Jennifer (pearlady) | 17 comments I found out that the book Caretakers didn't have a cover image, so I added one (found the correct one via LibraryThing). No biggie, except it's not showing up [to me:] on the right side that says "other additions" when I'm viewing the other editions. Okay, so that's slight problem #1.
I also attempted to add the description to all versions, and it took all the descriptions away when I tried to make it the default description(problem #2). The description is at http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/k/t...
[problem #3:] I also noticed that 2 editions have the same ISBN and # of pages, however they're published by different publishing companies. So, I have not combined them. Althoug, I can't add the isbn to one edition, for it'll give me an error saying it already exists. They've different book covers, and so I upload ed the images accordingly. (The Scribner edition as the blue cover with the mcmillian has the outlined man.) I think I did it okay, but with that earlier image problem, so I'm making sure it looks right.

[??:] This book Chaleurs is also included the editions. Except for the author, the information is different, even the cover is way different. My first thought is that this is a French version of this book, but I think the word is translating as "heat", and it doesn't appear to look anything like the other versions (more like a romantic book). Different author, perhaps, or just different style?? Not sure on either count.

Could someone help this new librarian (me) sort what can be sorted before she goes crazy in the edit room? >_<

(feel free to take over the editing here as need be)

Problem number #1 isn't really a problem. It's a caching issue; it will be correct in 24-48 hours.

#2 probably has to do with the change in how default descriptions work. You now have to be sure the check-box is checked when you save it. I think I got it fixed.

#3 isn't a problem. That's the workaround for multiple covers. And Scribner merged with Macmillan in 1984. That's why it looks like multiple publishers.

As for the French edition, I tend to assume people know what they're doing when combining those. Unless there's reason not to.

Actually, I tracked it down and it's a translation of Pearl, not Caretakers.
