Thanks for the update Barb! That's the next Anna Pigeon book for me and I really dislike alternating timelines. Wondering if I should skip it and move on to #12.
There's just enough personal background in this book that it might be worth skimming? Both timelines were good stories, and it was easy to keep track of the two threads - one is contemporary, one is just after the end of the Civil War - but there are still two stories to follow.
I read a review by someone who read all the Civil War chapters first and then went back to read all the contemporary ones. I just might do that - I hate "back and forth".

I listened to the audio so can't be certain, but it seemed like it alternated, so if you're reading actual print book, that should be relatively easy to do.
