Jan | 20742 comments Thanks Andrea & Meg!

Meg - is this your first reading of The Crossing Places? If so, I'm surprised you just starting this series. It's one of my favorites.

message 312: by Meg, Contributor (new)

Meg (makeli2) | 950 comments I found her Harbinder Kaur series first, and finished those off. After the second one I read I put The Crossing Places on my Kindle WL. I *finally* got it ordered and downloaded, but it's still taken me a bit to get it on the tbr! That's what happens when one has a tbr mountain the size of Everest!

message 313: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1622 comments Oh Meg, I envy you just starting that series! Like Jan, it was one of my favorites and I'm going through withdrawal now that it's ended.

♞ Pat Gent I got side-tracked by another book, but I'll get The God of the Woods finished by this weekend.

It's an ARC, so I'm having to read a digital copy, which is hard on my eyes, but I'll be able to get it done.

:-)
Sorry if I'm making everyone wait!

Pat, do you listen to audiobooks? Some (most?) Kindles - at least the newer ones - have the ability to read a book to you, which has been a lifesaver for me on more than one occasion. The narration does sound a bit mechanical, and it sometimes mispronounces words - 'live' gets pronounced the same whether it's a place where you live or live music, for example - but on bad vision days, it's better than nothing.

Jan | 20742 comments Appreciate the updates Barb, Andrea & Jennifer!

♞ Pat Gent The God of the Woods is done. It's due to be pubished in early July - and if you want a good who-done-it mystery, this one was well done.

There are a lot of characters and a lot of timelines - and they're all mixed up, but the construction of the novel allows you to figure it out as the police investigator does. Clues are fed just a little at a time, across timelines and characters.

Personally, I loved it!

Meg (makeli2) | 950 comments It was a good one!! I hope I can get to #2 before too long; I have too many challenges to finish up first. I did listen to the first chapter of it and it was tough not to go ahead and download the book. 😂

♞ Pat Gent Longitude 4 with Swiped by L.M. Chilton Swiped

Done.

Not sure which book I'll be picking up next. This time of year, my reading plan-ahead sort of falls apart. Summer reading throws a kink into my entire work life and my home life revolves around livestock chores, which leaves very little time for reading!

I'll see what I have on my KU selections and get back to you!
