That was by Kvothe's mom, in the discussion that ensued following the caravan's stoppage due to a laystone.I think it's very relevant to the laziness of the common human mind.Even though it knows that it is in the midst of an important task or an assignment with an impending deadline,it justifies itself to take frequent breaks like for example when a friend comes in and calls for coffee, snacks,chat or whatever. Though it knows that the stomach is not hungry and break is only gonna distract it or slow it down, it convinces itself to say a yes where No would've been the best answer.Not just friend, it could be many things like wanting to check fb,news,stock market graphs etc.Basically it magnifies the importance of distractions coming it's way and tries to put off until tomorrow what can be done today.
