I loved it, I honestly think it potrayed an amazing image of August! loved it although I read it a very long time ago

I think it's a great influence on kids. 10/10 would reccomend

It did take a long time to get through as a class and we would read a lot every day.

I love how the Author describes not only August but the school in its self the Author made the book very enjoyable and I read it to my Fifth graders this past year and they absolutely loved it they hated the bullies for what they did to August during the camping trip where they broke Augusts hearing aids and they all started screaming when I got to that part but they absolutely loved it and some even came to me this year on the first day of middle school because all the grades in my school are together that they even went and begged there mothers to buy it for them that's how awesome books like this are they give us and students incentive to want to read and honestly I recommend a lot of the preteen/late elementary school books because they really do showcase a lot of how school really is for disabled students

One of the most moving books I've ever read. The efficiency of language and parsimony of descriptors made it far more compelling than something more saccharine would have been. An unflinching stare into the primate realities of human childhood socialization.
The pain of August's parents, the harsh difficulty he faced every day of his young life and the varying ways the children and adults around him responded were powerful and truly written. Always be thankful for what you have, and always be considerate and kind to those facing hardships, especially when those hardships are completely not their fault.
