What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I'm looking for a book that I encountered, I think, in the mid-2000's. I'm fairly certain it was published between 2000 - 2010.I never read it but wanted to, so my plot summary is based on memories of the themes. I'm based in the UK, the author is definitely female (possibly British but I'm not 100% certain on that) and the book, as I recall, was about a young woman who was/used to be a prostitute who is possibly trying to enact revenge on a man or exploit him in some way. It's definitely not the erotic fiction genre, more of a psychological/subculture (possibly elements of crime) fiction novel.

The book cover changed for a later printing but I distinctly remember that the original UK printing had a red cover with a woman's legs on the front, you could just see the legs and she was dressed in fishnet tights with black knee high boots in relative close up.

UPDATE - I’ve found it, it’s Brass by Helen Walsh that I was thinking of.
