Oh gosh. I've been meaning to reread this for decades, because I enjoyed it so much the first two times that I read it. ;)

I read this in college. I’m excited to read it again, a little more closely.

This play is so witty and fun. Wilde captured the ridiculousness of society so well. It is still funny more than a century later.
My first introduction to it was when I was a little kid. My mom told me about it. I do not remember why. I problem said Earnest was a dumb name or something like that. It was years later before I saw it and enjoyed it.

I read this for the first time last year (along with Wilde's other major comedic plays), and I honestly loved it! It's probably my favourite of everything I've read from him. I'm looking forward to giving it a reread so I can join the discussion.

I read this out load in HS class, and I got to play a main character with my best friend -- what was really funny is that we had a very banter-ish / mean dynamic and it reflected well in our acting. (We are no longer friends.... the reading of the play foreshadowed our own friendship demise).

Elizabeth, I have enjoyed much else by Wilde, myself. Dorian Gray and the fairy tales might be the most popular, and most deserving of their fame.

This month's challenge at my public library was read something funny. So, BINGO. It was a perfect fit.

I have read it before and seen a movie based on it, but I am joining in again! Such fun to listen to as an LATW audiobook!
