Tracey (trakka) | 1363 comments 1. Did you complete any series this month?

No, but now one away on one series :-)

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?

Yes the Bonaparte series by Sandra Gulland. I will continue but will leave quite a space between books. I found it hard going.

https://www.goodreads.com/series/4322...

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?

Yes, one book further in the following series:

1. David Hunter series by Simon Beckett - now up to book 4 (https://www.goodreads.com/series/5460...)
2. In Death by J D Robb - now up to book 16 (https://www.goodreads.com/series/4102...)
3. Her Royal Spyness series by Rhys Bowen - now up to book 8 (https://www.goodreads.com/series/4649...)
4. Monkeewrench series by P J Tracy - now up to book 3 (https://www.goodreads.com/series/4343...)
5. Gaslight Mysteries by Victoria Thompson - now up to book 8 (https://www.goodreads.com/series/4127...)

I am quite pleased with my progress this month!

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?

I rated both Live Bait by P J Tracy and Murder on Lenox Hill by Victoria Thompson 5 ★. Great reads!

message 3: by D.G. (new)

D.G. 1. I completed the "Dark Dynasties" series by reading Immortal Craving. This last book was such a let down that I'm not recommending the series.

2. Oh yeah, I started several. Continuing Pride Mates & Destiny Binds, on the fence about Led Astray & The Professional (this last I will only continue if I get it from the library.)

3. I moved forward in only one - I read #2 in the Amelia Peabody series: The Curse of the Pharaohs. Awesome as usual.

4. No 5 star book reads but I finally got to a freebie series that I've had on my TBR for ages - the Timber Wolves trilogy and it was very good!!

message 4: by Robin (new)

Robin (robinmy) | 3478 comments 1. Did you complete any series this month?

I finished Allison Brennan's Prison Break series (very good) and Maggie Shayne's Brown & de Luca series (excellent).

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?

I added Rachel Gibson's Chinook Hockey series which I started years ago and kind of forgot about. I also started Erica Spindler's Stacy Killian series and will definitely be continuing.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?

I moved forward on four series:
House of Rohan - Anne Stuart
Chicagoland Vampires - Chloe Neill
The Hathaways - Lisa Kleypas
The Bodyguards - Cindy Gerard

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?

My 5 star books were Deadly Obsession by Maggie Shayne and Drink Deep by Chloe Neill.

1. Did you complete any series this month?
I completed one series, Bulletproof by Brenda Novak. I'm up to date in six others (see #4 below).

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
I started three: When You're Gone by Taryn Elliott, The McKinney Brothers by Claudia Connor and One to Hold by Tia Louise. I plan to continue all of them and have already read the second books in two of them.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
I moved forward in 13 series! I did a 3-book binge read of the Last Chance Rescue series, too. Other series I moved forward in:
- Whiskey Creek by Brenda Novak (up to date)
- Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill
- Alpha & Omega by Patricia Briggs
- Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews
- Bullet Catchers by Roxanne St. Claire
- Windfall Island by Anna Sullivan
- When You're Gone by Taryn Elliott (up to date)
- Crawford Family by Holly Bush (up to date)
- HORNET by Tanya Burrows (up to date)
- Dare River by Ava Miles (up to date)
- Delta Detectives by Stacy Green
- Lost in Oblivion by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott (up to date)

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
This was another outstanding reading month for me. With having read 25 stories (at least 5 were short stories), I ended up with several books I rated 5 stars.
- Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews
- Contract to Wed by Holly Bush
- Broken Honor by Tonya Burrows
- Last Chance by Christy Reece
- Dead Wrong by Stacy Green
- Night Terror by Stacy Green

All were hard to put down, well written, had well developed characters and were memorable long after I finished them.

Magic Rises (Kate Daniels, #6) by Ilona Andrews Contract to Wed (Crawford Family, #2) by Holly Bush Broken Honor (HORNET, #3) by Tonya Burrows Last Chance (Last Chance Rescue, #6) by Christy Reece Dead Wrong (Delta Detectives, #2) by Stacy Green Night Terror (Delta Detectives, #3) by Stacy Green

I think if an author creates a series build on a struggle between two groups that carries throughout the series, they must have an amazing ending in mind.

Good luck with those you started and plan to continue.

Erin (erin36) | 484 comments 1. Did you complete any series this month?

I completed Eloisa James' Fairy Tales series and the Into the Deep series by Samantha Young. I also got up to date in the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs.

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?

I started the Broken Destiny series by Jeaniene Frost and am not sure if I will continue or not. It was well written with a very likeable hero but the premise for the series didn't really appeal to me.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?

I moved forward in 3 series this month. Alpha and Omega by Patricia Briggs, Buchanan Renard by Julie Garwood and Chicagoland by Chloe Neill.

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?

My favorites this month were:
The Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James - I enjoyed the beautiful man falling in love with the 'ugly duckling' of a woman. It was a complicated and at times heart wrenching tale.

Mercy by Julie Garwood - between Theo Buchanan and the swamps of Louisiana this book held me transfixed!
