(that's what you get for putting a song in my head 😂😂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzNFK...)

I will post our cocktails into this post when we are finished, but I thought I would share my AI playing around this morning with our cocktail name "The Fire Queen's Book Magic"
DALL-E created this image for me along with this text...
"Imagine a cocktail that embodies the essence of a mystical and powerful Fire Queen, mixed with the enchantment of ancient books and magic. This drink, named "The Fire Queen's Book Magic", is a dazzling concoction served in a sophisticated, tall glass. The drink itself is a gradient of deep red at the bottom, symbolizing the Fire Queen's domain, transitioning into a fiery orange, and finally, a magical golden yellow at the top, representing the ancient knowledge and magic found in books. Swirls of shimmering, edible gold dust mimic the swirling magic spells around the glass. A delicate, edible gold leaf garnish rests on the rim, alongside a small, intricate, sugar-crafted flame. The background is a dimly lit library, with ancient, leather-bound books piled around, suggesting a secret meeting place where magic and the mystic converge. This image captures the essence of mystery, power, and the timeless allure of reading and magic. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, yet filled with the potent promise of adventure.

Kylo Ren's Bar is open!
Percy's Prodigal Nipple:
A frothy variation on a Pink Lady: instead of a maraschino cherry, a pellet-shaped piece of grenadine-soaked pear floats on top.
Freaky Phoenix Honey Blessing
Campari, blood orange, and honey, with a splash of Grand Marnier on top that is lit on fire when served.
Medieval Midnight Magic
Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice and pour in Aqua Vitae, lemon juice, and a little simple syrup. Churn the ingredients and top with a drizzle of Crème de Mure and 2 blackberries. Serve on a Ouija planchette.
Hattie's Open Handbag
First, call for everyone in the room to be silent. Then, unwrap a Starlight mint as noisily as possible. Shake lime juice, simple syrup, aged rum, and a dash of angostura bitters with ice, then strain and pour over the mint. Top with some bubbly champagne and enjoy!
Unnatural Vampire Dream
Mix absinthe, rye whiskey, bitters, and a cherry in an opaque glass. Can only be served after dark.
Blonde Girl Heartache
A Long Island Iced Tea, but with Diet Coke.
Yellow Duck in Heels
Blend vodka, cream, cream of coconut, pineapple juice and grenadine, then let sit for a minute until the drink slightly separates to look yellow on top and pinkish below.
Kenya's Blue Moon
Muddle cardamom seeds in a shaker. Add ice, mursik filtered through a cheesecloth, some spiced rum, and then shake and strain into a glass. Top with a dash of blue curaçao. (Suggested as a once a month special.)

Morning Cocktails
🫙Parker's Eyre of the Dog (this is perfect for those of you who imbibed a little too much the night before)
🥂Captain Davenport's Golden Key (a lovely brunch champagne cocktail)
Happy Hour
🍹Ocean's Reign (for when you're at our charming beach side lounge and need a little something refreshing)
💕Heart's Secret Joy (when you don't know what you want, but our wonderful bartenders do)

🍊Stars and Shadows (a lovely mezcal cocktail with grapefruit and soda)
🥃Simone's Fatal Education (bourbon heavy - because everyone knows they drink bourbon in dark academia)
🍸Kami's Beautiful Dark & Grimm (your classic martini - dirty or dry, with a twist, you choose)
🧉Bodie's Cursed Redemption (rum and coconut - think a shipwrecked pirate)
End of the Night
🫗The Time Swallower (this is the last thing you need at the end of the night, but you do it anyway)

The Suffering Bastards grudgingly decided to open a bar. As Don John is our patron saint, we do expect some trouble in our future. Perhaps a battle, perhaps just some serious side-eye, but we are girding our loins with some powerfully potent drinks.
Our gloomy bartenders often over pour, and sometimes plot evil things behind your back, but you just won’t care too much when you taste the following...
-Jack Chen's First Time
**Yeah. First time. Right. So for first timers, what could be better than O'Doul's on ice with Kailua and Bailey’s mixed in? Will Jack ever drink again?
-Quinn Starkweather's Thunder Fascination
**If you like it dark and stormy, then you will love a freshly pulled Guinness with a shot of moonshine tossed in.
-The 100-Year-Old Firefighter's Heart
**Old is good. Older is better. Try this 100-year-old Laphroaig, with a glass. You need nothing else. Especially if you lived to 100 as a firefighter!
-The Archangel's Blue Scissors
**Why is the angel playing with scissors? Because they are blue of course! Try this tall cool glass filled with Ambrosia, vodka, refreshing raspberries and topped with cloud-like spun sugar.
-Sherlock Holmes' Tasmanian Graveyard
**Always one get to the bottom of a crime, with a little help, Sherlock’s offering contains 7% cocaine, freshly dug graveyard dirt, and crushed wattle seeds in a ginger ale medium. (No alcohol, of course, to keep your brain thinking clearly.)
-Shifter's Stakes and Bones
**Sure, some shifters are afraid of stakes, but what’s life without risk? Try this concoction of Bones Rum and orange juice, with a very long skewer of mixed fruit in the glass.
-The Master and the Mystery Guest
**The Master likes things bloody. And, the mystery is what are all 15 ingredients in this cocktail? It’s red, it is a bit thick, and it is tasty.
-The Crook's Soul Untangled
**Newly released? On the lam? What do you crave? Tequila, and lots of it. Add some Creme de Cassis, a smidge of grenadine, some triple sec and a bunch of lime, and you are ready for your new life.
-Bayou Moon on Fire
**Bourbon and the south. Add a bit of danger, and you get a brilliant drink. Bullett bourbon mixed with Fireball cinnamon whiskey, and a touch of cognac, served on fire.

I am loving these drinks!!!!

I am loving these drinks!!!!"
I learned about mursik today :)
Love the Suffering Bastard drinks. I was going to go with the Sherlock Holmes' Tasmanian Graveyard, but as I don't like grit in my beverages, I think I will try the Crook's Soul Untangled!
And I can always do with a last call of Lady Tremaine's Time Swallower please!

I had to look up mursik. Not sure of that drink would be brilliant or something else...

Cover colours need to be >50%. The examples we have give are just that, examples and you do not need to read something from the examples given. Feel free to get creative! The book needs to make sense for each cocktail but for the rest, you are given free hand to make your books fit.
◈ Every book read is worth 10 points.
◈ Each book can be used for one task only.
◈ If your team reads for all 30 tasks, you get 30 points as bonus.
Part Two
After several cocktails, a lot of us tend to get a little creative - some more than others. Then again, a selection have shown their poetic prowess even before the challenge began and possibly without cocktail-influence.
Here is your chance to shine (again), now that you've drunken a multitude of cocktails: create your own cocktails!
You can use anywhere between two and six elements from your books to create a name for your cocktail along the lines of what the mods have done for the team names.
These are the elements you can choose to use from your books - any combination of these works:
- book title
- series title
- author name
- item on cover
- cover colour (no matter how much of it is found on the cover as long as one can actually detect it with the naked eye)
- name from the story (any character or named creature, you could even use the cat's name if you like)
- setting of the story (can be the entire setting, can be the setting of a single scene, whatever works for your creation)
The names of your cocktails do not have to be villain/troublemaker inspired. You could create a Miss Piggy's Pink Umbrella if you wanted. Or a Little Miss Sunshine's Bellini.
◈ Every book read is worth 10 points.
◈ Each book can only be used once for the mini challenge.
◈ No bonus points for completing this part as it is supposed to be fun. No pressure.
The usual:
◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (Feb 1).
◈ Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on March 15, 9am UTC (Countdown: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...) and before April 1 at 9am UTC (when the April UNO month begins).
◈ Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books from what you are claiming for your UNO hands.
◈ The usual book length rules apply.
◈ Team spreadsheets will be updated with a mini challenge tab so that you can track your books and claim your points.
