Esra | 11 comments I read on the internet that there will be a movie of Angelfall. I think a movie of the book would be great, so i hope it's going to be happen.
Which actor do you think should occupy the characters in the book Angelfall ? Penryn, Raffe etc..

message 2: by Mita (new)

Mita | 80 comments The ones who can actually give our characters justice.
And not just the actors, but the directors too.

message 3: by Bkd (new)

Bkd (beserked2) | 10 comments Kevin Durand as Belial.

I said it in the other thread like this and I'll keep pedaling it because I really want it to happen.

Kevin Bacon as Uriel.

message 4: by Mita (new)

Mita | 80 comments I'll agree with Kevin Durand as Belial. He is an awesome actor and I can totally see him playing Beliel very well.
But I don't know about Kevin Bacon for Uriel.

How about Mark Strong for Uriel?

Or Andrew Scott!

message 5: by Mita (new)

Mita | 80 comments I think Jai Courtney could play a good Burnt :D

Totally agree. WHo cares how they look, if they can't act their looks won't safe the movie.

As for directors: Sam Raimi will direct so we know the horror and gore will be on point. xD

message 7: by Esra (new)

Esra | 11 comments Mita I totaly I agree with you.
But I just find it very interesting to collect ideas and hear different opinions :))

Not necessarily. He did Pg-13 movies with no Horror (wizard of Oz), so if they want to age it down, they can (that would be horrible!!!)

message 9: by Adri (new)

Adri do we have any information about the release date?

Kevin Durand is brilliant.

And I didn't know how much I wanted a Mark Strong Uriel until you planted the idea in my head. I always sort of imagined Uriel as a mobsterman. Like Johnny Depp in Public Enemies. Strong's a different feel but I love it. He's a suave mofo. The only downside to a MarkStrongUriel is that he'd maybe be a little too likable.

Jai Courtney as Burnt is another awesome choice.

I have faith in Sam Raimi and Susan (although authors don't normally get a say in this) to stay as true to the book as they can and to not gloss over the gore and the fighting because, for me at least, those elements play a huge part for the world building

Esra | 11 comments What's about Raffe and Penryn which actor would be good for this roles ?

!!! Suave mofo is totally right!
HAHAHA

as for Mom.... I KNOW Helena Bonham Carter would be able to play her to the T. no problem but ... I kinda would like someone ... a bit more understated? like someone else. Like someone who isn't known for playing crazy but then KILLS it. Like Charlize in Monster. I seriously didn't expect her to be able to play someone like that. you know?

Natalie Portman? or Reese Witherspoon?

Can you imagine them 'uglied up' a little and insane?... I can't say they would be my perfect choice but... they are close haha

message 17: by Mita (new)

Mita | 80 comments Maggie Elizabeth Jones? For Paige?

Yes to Reese No to Natalie but only because I think she is too young-looking to play the mom but maybe as Laylah? (I can't remember how she's describes in Angelfall).
My 2 favorites to play the Mom would have to be Cate Blanchett and Uma Thurman.

message 19: by Keandra (new)

Keandra (kekebell) | 8 comments I think what makes a good movie is a combination of a great cast of actors and actresses who can actually act and an amazing crew of directors, producers, etc. It's all about decision making. Some producers and directors simply screw up the entire movie adaptation. Some actors and actresses, though good-looking, simply cannot act or just don't play the role like how they should. So I don't think it's just about the cast and how they play the roles, it's also about the people behind the scenes who are making the big decisions on how to turn the book into something visually appealing.

message 20: by Mita (new)

Mita | 80 comments Okay I totally take it back. I think Emily Blunt would be awesome as Mom. She could totally play crazy. She could be aged a little bit but she could totally be crazy!

message 21: by Esra (new)

Esra | 11 comments Julianne More would be perfect for the crazy mom I think.

I can get on board with Bonham-Carter and Emily Blunt (because I love them both to bits) but I'd take anyone, literally anyone else over Portman. I don't even know why haha.

Natalie mentioned Uma Therman - which would be such an awesome choice. Though I don't know if she's ever played someone as crazy as Penryn's Mum.

I wouldn't actually mind Yvonne Strahovski or Naomi Watts as Penryn's Mum or Laylah.

Sebastian Stan would be another good choice for 'Burnt'. Or even as Raffe if he buffed himself up a bit like he did in Captain America.

Lol, I totally agree!!!
:)

Hurrikan Kathrina (hurrikankathrina) Please NOT Bonham Carter. She is the most generic choice for crazy women of all time.

message 27: by Mita (new)

Mita | 80 comments I think finding a good set of acting twins to play dee dum might be the hardest. the only twin set i can think of are the Phelps twins (George and Fred Weasley) but they're a bit older now and I don't know if they could pull off the extremely american twins. But i could be wrong. :p

What about Obi, anyone?

I like Idris Elba... but he might be too old...

Terrence Howard is also a really smooth talker.

message 28: by Esha (new)

Esha (potatothug) | 90 comments Idris Elba does seem like the persona for Obi I imagined but thats just me

Natalie | 54 comments Mita wrote: "I think finding a good set of acting twins to play dee dum might be the hardest. the only twin set i can think of are the Phelps twins (George and Fred Weasley) but they're a bit older now and I do..."

omg now that you mentioned it: I can't picture anyone else more perfect for Obi than Idris Elba, he definitely has that "badass-leader-of-a-resistance-during-the-apocalypse" vibe going on xD

Hurrikan Kathrina (hurrikankathrina) Er, is Obi black? Did I miss that in the book?

Btw, what about Beliel and Uriel? How do you guys imagine them? Actor suggestions?

message 31: by Katerina (new)

Katerina Kondrenko (katerina_kondrenko) We need someone huge, with black hair and pale skin as Beliel and someone more human-like size, namby-pamby, with brown hair and I forgot his eyes color (is it grey?) as Uriel. I though about Joe Manganiello as Beleil, but he has a sooty skin =(

No you didn't miss anything he isn't xD but like I said he's kinda giving me that whole "resistance-leader" vibe.

No. But like I'd said earlier. I'd rather someone who can actually act and portray the character well. If all anyone cared about were looks the movie wouldn't be any good. We all learned that with I AM NUMBER FOUR.

Pretty people. Horrible acting.

message 34: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (nataliesurace) | 24 comments Mita wrote: "What about Obi, anyone?"

I could definitely see Terrence Howard.

Or what about Joe Manganiello? I could totally see him as a resistance leader in the World After. He's got that tough but 'good guy' look.

Word!!!! FINALLY someone that agrees that Alex Pettyfer is a horrible actor! Ugh...

message 36: by Mita (new)

Mita | 80 comments You know a lot of people were thinking of Joe form Beliel or Raffe....

but I think you are right Natalie... If he can actually ACT the part of Obi.... I think Joe could certainly be Obi. He's got the look to him...

but yeah. I picked Idris and Terrence for their acting.
Terrence has this suave way about him where he could talk a a starving man to give him the last of his food and drink in the middle of the freaking desert and he can also get a little rough and rugged like a soldier man.

Idris is just badass all the way around and has that Leader, turn people to his cause kind of way about him. "badass-leader-of-a-resistance-during-the-apocalypse" like you said hahaha.

Joe is hot and he looks like an only child-used to getting his way-suave-leader trying to talk Pen into ditching her sister to join his cause kind of thing. :p

Hey, I second that. Moreover, I don't even think that he's handsome.

message 38: by Natalie (new)

Natalie | 54 comments He's pretty overrated :/ On the bright side I'm happy to find like-minded people who think that the looks of an actor/actress are not that important if they can act and make us feel all the feels. :)

For Odi, I would cast The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) or Bruce Willis.

I agree about Dwanye Johnson playing Obi!

message 45: by Mita (new)

Mita | 80 comments Eh. Dwayne's smooth talking and charming for sure, but he's too.... large?
I dunno. Physically, yeah he could be a soldier after the apocalypse but the leader? -_^
i just don't see it.

And Bruce is ... I love him. Die Hard(all of them... except maybe the last) equals awesome badassery. But the dude is OLD.

message 46: by Nalani (new)

Nalani (nalanineedsnovels) | 114 comments You know, I just want Susan to write the script. Hollywood did the same for Gone Girl; have author write the script stunt. If book to film/tv adaptations where all done like that then a) more of the fans of the fandom would see the movie and d) the author would know which parts the movie needs and not needs while having the logical flow of the book. Anyone els agree.

message 47: by Mita (new)

Mita | 80 comments I don't know about gone girl (maybe i should watch it? :D) or the author writing the script, but I think i would be seriously upset if whoever wrote it went way off from the book like they did with Insurgent. HAHAHA I remember sitting in the theatre going...."What the hell is going on?? What am I watching?" hahahahaha
Not saying it was a bad movie but ... I would not be happy if they did that with Penryn and the End of Days.

message 48: by Nalani (new)

Nalani (nalanineedsnovels) | 114 comments ALL of us would be pissed of if any unnecessary changes where made to the movie.

You were watching... modern The Fifth Element, tah-daaah!)

I start to think that I don't wanna any Angelfall movie, they will change the plot in the script, I'm sure... as always... =(

message 50: by Nalani (new)

Nalani (nalanineedsnovels) | 114 comments No Angelfall movie. . .? That could be possible. . . . .
