Pen Pal by J.T. Geissinger This Pen Pal I assume?
I meant to read it too, but then discovered the ending by accident, so keep putting it off till I hopefully forget the ending, so that I can enjoy it more. I'm all like, come on brain, usually you're so good at forgetting things you shouldn't, work for me once. But no, turns out when you actually want to forget something it's not happening. Perhaps I should employ this reverse psychology to other things in life...

It's on my very short make-sure-TBR list :-). Based on your recommendation, among other things :-).

It was very controversial amongst my GR friends and nearly every J.T. Geissinger reader.
She does that sometimes. Writes a standalone that's not part of a series that gets everyone going crazy with Hate it/Love it

She put out a different one shortly before that one that I read and I hated that one.
They were completely different.
And that one had everyone debating it too.
Lot's of my GR friends read it and we all had different opinions about it. 🤣🤣

My favorite type of jacket, with, I think it's called Mandarin collar, no endless (and needless) buckles and stuff. Simplicity.

Exactly. Only way I admit buckles are useful is for those poor guys who get fat and can't close their cuts anymore without adding them...

I'd been smelling gas on and off again ( natural gas) in our laundry, but no one else could. Until my sister picked up on it & then the plumber. I reported it, took them 3 days ( no water, no gas, lots of anxiety, and dealing with a toxic agressive property manager, little sleep) but I pushed till they came & fixed the entire gas line & there were several leaks spotted before they did. I haven't had too much time outside of that & work to read or check in. I've been looking forward to all week & to finish setting everything up ( if albiet delayed) But the new line is in, safety checks done, glorious showers abounded & cooking from home again was soothing.

Good that you caught it when you did, it could've ended up much worse.
I sympathize with you for having "toxic aggressive property manager", he sounds like real winner...

May has been a weird month, cause I ended up in ER today with a splintered piece of wood in my foot. Think the universe is granting me some RNR time (enforced XD) Foot is bandaged and had all my shots. Ready for the rest of the month to be restorative & I've been missing checking in with everyone.

Wow, do we even wanna know how that happened? Sounds like a story and a half.
Wishing you swift recovery and no infection. Hopefully you can walk on it at least with no crutches?

Shannon robinson Do you have an author that after you read one of their books that it's hard to find another book to read? That's me right now, so I reread a book from another author I like. I will never get through my list.

Do you mean that the author is so good that it's hard to find anything else that does it justice? Like a tough act to follow?

In that case, yes, it often happens after I read a new book by one of my favorite authors - everything I read next pales in comparison, and it's difficult to get really invested in it.

Eleven | 568 comments This is not a biker read, but just stumbled upon this fairly good deal - first three books in a hockey sports series for just 0.99 (otherwise they're quite expensive). Haven't read them, but I've read book 6 in the series The Keeper (Vegas Crush #6) by Raine Miller and enjoyed it, it was a good book.
Anyway, the box set in question:
A Vegas Crush Collection #1 Hockey Love Stories Crushed, Sin Shot, Red Rocket (Vegas Crush Collections) by Raine Miller A Vegas Crush Collection #1: Hockey Love Stories: Crushed, Sin Shot, Red Rocket (Vegas Crush Collections) by Raine Miller, Brit DeMille

Eleven | 568 comments I've been reading Shooter The Devil's Highwaymen MC (Ride or Die #1) by Cee Cee Riley , in fact just finished it and it's so frustrating. Shooter (aka Jesse James), tho he probably has more in common with real bikers than the vast majority of fictional characters, comes across as a spoiled brat with often senseless tantrums and through the entirety of the book is, simply put it, stupid AF. He has a reason for being like he is - he was basically raised by nobody, had no role models or anything, but having excuses for being a giant A-hole doesn't make you any less of one. Laney, our heroine, after being stupid enough to fall for somebody who's obviously beyond redemption, just lets him walk all over her, being a doormat. Gah. Never wanted to go and kick sense into a pair of fictional characters more than I did while reading this :-). On the other hand, I couldn't stop reading till the end...
