Michael (michaeljsullivan) | 70 comments Curious if there are any other "Quantum Leap" fans in this group - it was one of my favorite all time shows - and I loved seeing how Sam dealt with sensitive issues from prior years. Reminded me a bit of the original Star Trek series.

Randy Harmelink | 1098 comments Loved it, until the final season or so, when "God" vs "Satan" became part of the show.

I particularly enjoyed the shows where Bakula got to sing, and those episodes that dealt with history WE know, but started out differently in the episode, then ended up correctly.

I was big fan as well. I agree with you Michael every episode dealt with some moral issue. "Oh Boy!" I like the juxtaposition of knowing the future and yet having to live through the injustice of the past. Vietnam, The 60's...I remember a Halloween episode where Sam's mission was to make a haunted house with a nerdy teenager and through the episode, he keeps asking himself what great good did this help? The big reveal at the end of the episode is the nerdy kid is Stevie King....AKA Stephen King.

I watched some of the very first episodes on Netflix recently and Al is pounding on his hand held device screaming at Ziggy. The show takes place in the future 1999...and I imagined myself holding up my Iphone screaming at Siri...

Michele | 144 comments I loved that show :) Was just thinking about it a couple of days ago when we watched the movie version of Man of La Mancha with Richard Harris and Sophia Loren, because there's a QL episode where he jumps into an actor playing Don Quixote in the stage version.

I have no memory of a battle between God and the Devil in the last season, though!

Randy Harmelink | 1098 comments There was even an "evil leaper" and everything. To undo things Sam had done to make things better.

I think the evil aspect first showed up in the Stephen King episode, with the "devil-Al" character.

I loved that Man of La Mancha episode. I liked the episodes where people from his real life showed up.

Oh Boy ;)

I also hugely enjoyed quantum leap, I even enjoyed the spiritual aspect that developed towards the end. At first I was sad about the ending but over time i appappreciated it and now i cant think of a better Closure.

There was a short lived series called Journeyman that had a similar theme and was terrific but unfortunately a writers strike rendered the whole crew jobless but they did manage to whip up an end episode with some satisfying answers. That makes the series well worth watching and a nice updated tribute nod to the great Quantum Leap series.

CaptKirk42 Classic Whovian (klandersen) | 60 comments Huge Leaphead. Before the show I was already a fan of Dean Stockwell's work he was great as Al. Since the show I have followed Scott Bakula's career. Loved Star Trek: Enterprise, even though many Trek fans consider it the worst Trek series. I don't I put it at #3 or 4. Bakula is now the lead on NCIS: New Orleans. I Like to abbreviate it NCIS: NO even though most people use NCIS: NOLA,

Some years back '06 maybe? When Bakula was touring in the musical "Shenandoah" I saw it at Ford's Theatre. Fantastic show wonderful performances. Even though I was sitting in the balcony 3rd or 4th row back there were times when it felt like he was looking directly at me.

Michele | 144 comments Scott Bakula was in a couple of Law & Order episodes. I always liked him, and QL had such a great premise. I wish Enterprise had managed to stick around, I thought it had potential.

Yeah Enterprise was just getting its second wind when the cancellation hit. 4 seasons instead of the standard Starfleet Seven Seasons. Except for TOS (3 Seasons) and The Animated Trek (2 Seasons) All the other Trek Series (Next Gen, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager) were 7 Seasons. Next Gen started a that trend for Trek Series.
