Michael | 52 comments Split editions are really common in some book markets (like Japan). The general guidance that I've seen is that they can't be combined with the primary work, but they can be put into a series with each other.

Can/should we be adding the full edition with the split editions in a series? I see this happen a lot with boxed sets in English (https://www.goodreads.com/series/73758) but not with split editions from other languages. Is there a way to combine the split edition series with the primary work more directly?

For example, Norwegian Wood (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...) is published as a single volume in most translations, but the original Japanese version is most commonly published in two volumes (https://www.goodreads.com/series/143861).

What is the best way to show that the two Japanese volumes are the same book as the English volume?

Michael | 52 comments Thanks for the quick reply. Just as a follow up, does that mean that we should not be adding boxed sets to the series page either, like in this example (https://www.goodreads.com/series/73758)?

Scott | 8696 comments The last entry was invalid so I removed it. The others are fine.
