This is the fourth in this series, about a world that has given up much of its technology and where telepaths have stepped out of the shadows to become a powerful influence on the world. I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first three - it felt more like a bridge book than one that could stand on its own. (The first book was amazing, though, so if you are interested in modern-day sci-fi, dark tones, and/or mysteries that have to be solved with a combination of good police work and the occasional bit of mind-reading, check it out!)
That being said, it was still a fun read and while there is no title/publication date for the fifth book yet, I am looking forward to it.
