Well, no, lol - but I do I have a 952 page book (The Hands of the Emperor) that I just got from Libby that I want to start after my other Battle books. If I were to add a 1000+ page book to my Battle reading, I suspect I wouldn't get finished before my Libby book would be due!

I’ll wait till after my next meeting to send it over (so Donna has a bit to confirm she’s good with it and because I can’t multitask while giving a presentation). But Laura, we know you’re lurking if you want to start some planning. 😁

And to share a note from the Mods… we only have till tonight (start of the battle) to finalize our battle books or we loose them. So I’m glad we’re on the last round!!!

Hi Dale - I just want to check in and let you know that despite the books not being correct for you in the top half of the summary page, under the resources section in the bottom, points are correctly tabulated. That being said, I have figured out what the problem was, so your numbers should look correct for Round 2 and going forward!

Correct! We can start when the timer hits 0:00:00 tonight and have a week to finish all our battle books. We do NOT need to start/finish them in order, but we do need to finish all 10 in the week.

We've got a couple of options. The reader is a co-captain, so when she's up and around she'll update the spreadsheet & post here what her choice is. The end of planning/start of battle is 5:00 a.m. for me, so she'll do it.

I know what I am capable of. I also know that I still have a husband and one teenager at home (the other two kids moved out - which doesn't mean they aren't still needy). The husband is worse than the teen. As soon as I pick up a book, he can't find something. Or the washer isn't cooperating with him. I told him that he is on his own while I read 3 books this week. He has to find something to occupy his time. LOL!

I used to read almost 500 books a year. Now I am lucky to get between 150 & 200. However, I am enjoying this nice easy pace. This year, I won't hit even that high because I didn't read for a couple of months after my dad died. Just because I can read almost 500 books a year doesn't mean I have to. I know I can. I have done it. My Goodreads stats show it. I felt the need to step back and slow down. Burnout is a real thing. Maybe I will hit that level again but not this year.

They didn't set the countdown to stop at zero. Look below the countdown. It says Time since Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 9:00:00 am (UTC time) . The battle should already be in progress is my guess.

I've finished one of my two books - A Master of Djinn - but I probably won't even start my other one until Tuesday. I'll get it done, though! I finished the longer one first. :)

Overachiever... not really. My birthday was earlier this month and my husband spoiled me. Took me to the bookstore. Got a stack of new books that I want to read. They are taunting me sitting there while I am reading other books. LOL!

Somehow my 3 participation posts have migrated to Joanna's spots for The Wishing Game.

And while I I haven't finished (or started, for that matter) The WIshing Game, I have completion posts listed that I believe are Lizzie's. There may be more errors, but those are the ones I can identify.

Check now - I think a mistake happened when we lost one of our teammates who had signed up for an initial BOM - so everything got shifted up one on accident. But I just went through every one and it should be fixed!

Oh yeah. I finished the backroom BOM, The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen, on the 19th and it's in another spot. Plus my Day 1-3 links are posted in Tru's row.

All my BOM entries seem to be off also. Would it be easier if we just relink them?

So it looks like The Familiar will be one of BOM for July. I'm currently reading it, but will I need to hold off on finishing it until the BOM starts? Or can I finish it early and still participate in the discussion for points?

So if that's the case, can I do discussion posts for it because I've read it recently and remember. Or do you have to do discussion posts while you're reading it - if that's the case, I've read it too recently?

Lizzie -

I honestly don't know what the rule is re: start date. I think you're supposed to start the book after the BOM start date, but I'm not absolutely certain.

I know that, for example, I couldn't participate in The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen Boackroom BOM because I'd read it within the last six months. But a partially finished book? No idea.

I think one of our Brave Leaders will have to check on the Captain's thread.
