Finished the last book for the District 1 wheel. We're ready for another one.

We have banked books that cover 4 of the 8 tasks for District 4, which isn't bad!

I have a question, though. Do we get the points for each book read / spell out letter / task OR do we only get to claim the 5 points for each when we finish the District or Spell Out?

I just finished a book that works for E, so I was going to use it for the Spell Out. But, I have more E books, and this book also to be a 4th in series, so could be used for the Dstrict.

We don't have that much time to read left. I think where we focus on putting books depends on if we get points for books finished for uncompleted spins.

I reread the Mini description, but I'm still not sure.

Good question. I went back to the rules and we get the 5 points for each book even if we don’t finish our last District and last spell out.

So… short answer is it probably does not matter. Long answer is there are fewer books to finish the District, so that would be our best bet to try getting another spin. But district tasks tend to be harder, so maybe it all balances out.

I added it to the District 4 spot - as you said, it probably doesn't matter that much. :)

As for District 4 itself, we've got the obvious fishing, but also nets, tridents, ships, knots, and all manner or seafood.

Do you think we could get away with Knot of Shadows for plot element? I have no idea what the knot is, but the precis mentions a dead body in the harbor, and harbors certainly pertain to shipping and fishing.

Since no one objected, I've added Knot of Shadows to the District 4 tasks - I should finish it this morning.. That leaves only one uncompleted task - somthing related to District 4 on the cover.

I've got a book with ocean and a ship on the cover that I'll begin next that isn't terribly wrong. It also works for D in the Spell Out, so if anyone finishes a cover book before I do, go for it.

I have another E book I may be able to read tonight.

The one I am finishing up now has a ship on the cover, I can swap it from the spell-out to the district one.

I think so. That's where the livestock would be, but I think it's up to the captains.

Hi all! I’m on vacation in the mountains with little access but I promise I will finish Finale tonight. Just about 90 pages left. Is tomorrow the last day? This has been such a fun challenge and I’m already excited for another team challenge if they have one. Anyway, I’m alive and still reading.

Tara, I just finished a Black Narcissus: A Novel that could work for the R in the spellout. Feel free to use it if you're not able to finish your book on time.

6 hours left! Okay. I’ll get to it and will post here when I’m done. I won’t be able to update the spreadsheet though so if someone can do that for me tomorrow that would be lovely. Thanks everyone!

And Lizzie - I've always been a Rumer Godden fan. Black Narcissus was the first of hers I read as a teenager, but I've never reread it. I confess, I tend to lean towatd her more optimistic books. I hope you enjoyed it!

I think I might be a new Rumer Godden fan. I've really enjoyed the two books I've read from her so far, and Black Narcissus: A Novel is one of the most beautiful movies I've seen. So finally reading the book was great.

The struggle for survival in the arena is a never ending cycle. Sometimes a tribute will luck into a boon but they are just as likely to be a victim of sabotage.

The Randomizer was let loose on all of the teams' resource supply piles. The Arena Masters are not heartless, the news isn't all bad. But the Arena is an unforgiving landscape and in the final hours the randomizer takes one last spin through the resources.

In Round 3, teams may receive a boons (15% page point increase), or sabotages (10% or 15% page point decrease). Teams can received the same boon or sabotage more than once. Impacts to resource supply piles are team specific.

Your team's randomizer results

Weapons: 15% decrease
Shelter: 10% decrease
Food: 15% decrease
Defense: 15% decrease

Finally back from vacation and updated the sheet (line 219) which brings me to 14 books for the challenge. I know this is nothing compared to the rest of you, but I hope I helped a bit! Anyway, thanks again, captains and teammates! 👏🏻
