Sandi (sandin954) | 1276 comments Hi all,

Too much work and not much reading the past few months.

Here are my Feb/March/April reads:

Good Reads

The Mystery Guest - Nita Prose
While not as good as the first book in the series, this was a pleasant listen. Molly is a fun character and the narration by Lauren Ambrose was very well done.

Bright Young Women - Jessica Knoll
While not usually my favorite type of plot, I thought the author did a good job with the dual timelines and kept the suspense at a high level. Listened to the audio version which was narrated by Sutton Foster, Imani Jade Powers, Corey Brill, & Chris Henry Coffey.

Burn - Nevada Barr
Not one of my favorites in this series. Anna is recuperating in New Orleans but cannot help herself getting involved with a neighbors problem. Listened to the audio which was narrated by Joyce Bean.

Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements - Bob Mehr
A well researched and exhaustive account of the life and times of the Replacements though, at times, an exhausting read because the band was so self destructive and miserable so much of the time.

The Client - John Grisham
An early work by the author that I found entertaining. Listened to the audio which was an old school Books on Tape version that was narrated by John MacDonald.

GailW (abbygg) | 529 comments It's not the volume that counts, but the comfort it gives you. Looks like you had some good reads! (pun not intended...)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16958 comments Sandi, hopefully you can reverse the ratio of books and work for the rest of the year. ;) nice list. I have read three of them and agree Bright Young Women was very well done and quite suspenseful. It has stuck with me.
We discussed The Mystery Guest as a group read, it will be interesting to see where the third book goes with Molly.
