Today i will read and spend some time with my family
Happy easter to everyone who celebrates and a nice sunday to all of us.

I also finished Erik Larson's Dead Wake for non-fiction. I've been slowly chipping away at that one for a couple of weeks. I really liked it but not as much as Devil in a White City or Isaac's Storm.
I also read The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. I read it as a book from my childhood. It was the first book my brother ever willingly let me borrow and I remember feeling really grown up reading it. And there is so much wordplay. I loved it. But the part I would have told you up and down and all over that I loved the most? It turns out to be a mashup of two different portions of the book. I'm glad I reread it.
That's 26 books and halfway through in 13 weeks. I doubt I can keep up the pace but I feel like I'll get through it without much trouble now. Which is good because some categories I'm less enthused by are looming.
Hopefully I'll find some really pleasant surprises as that is, I think, one of the larger goals of this list. Hmmm.

This week I read Il visconte dimezzato by Italo Calvino, the first book of my trilogy (Our Ancestors: The Cloven Viscount, The Baron in the Trees, The Non-Existent Knight). And I read Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan for my book with a number in the title.
They were both short reads, so I decided to pick up my more than 500 pages book next, White Teeth, I'm about halfway through but I'm hoping to finish it before the end of the holiday weekend. I've also started listening to the audiobook of The Art of Asking; or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help by Amanda Palmer, but I doubt I'll count that towards the challenge: the only fitting prompt that I can think of is a memoir, but I already have something for that one.

I haven't finished any books this week. I'm taking a few days off from the challenge and re-reading Divergent. I just finished classes for grad school and need to rest for a bit. Afterward, I'll resume the challenge with The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (funny) and Losing in Gainesville (hometown).

I've finished 19 books so far this year.
For the last several years, I've hosted Easter dinner at my home. This year, due to work constraints, we went to my MIL/FIL's home. My kids had a blast playing with cousins they hadn't met before. They did an Easter egg hunt and had a great time. They played so hard that when bed time rolled around, we didn't hear a "peep" out of them. ;-)

This week I finished Bryant & May and The Burning Man. It was a decent read, but as it was the 12th book in a series I've never read before I feel like I missed out on a lot (I was sent a copy for review, which was why I started mid-series). {A book by an author you've never read before)
I've now finished 16 books, and am currently reading Sworn to Transfer and listening to an audio book of Dracula
I don't really celebrate Easter (apart from exchanging some Easter eggs), but I have enjoyed the 4 day weekend we have in the UK by vising my parents.

I'm at my grandma's to celebrate Easter (as per usual.)

Nine Lives to Die for 16. A book from an author you love that you have not read yet; and
All the President's Menus for 4. A book published this year.
That brings my total checked off prompts to 15 (though I split out the trilogy prompt to 3 separate tasks). I feel I'm in a good place to finish this challenge, but that may change later in the year.

Maurice for my book over 100 years old
The Shell Collector: Stories for my book of short stories
I just finished House of Small Shadows for a book that scares you. It was very atmospheric and creepy, and I definitely got scared coming upstairs to bed in the dark last night!
I didn't get to read too much this weekend, also because of Easter, but I did get to visit family and go to a Senators hockey game which was very cool!

Last week I finished Animal Farm and Ready Player One and really enjoyed both books. I read them for "A book with nonhuman characters" and "A book set in the future" and can absolutely recommend them. These were books number 13 & 14 for me and I'm really happy that I was finally able to catch up since I started this challenge pretty late, in mid February.
I'm currently reading In Free Fall by Juli Zeh and will probably finish it today. I'm absolutely loving this book so far, especially the language. I'm reading it in German though, so I don't how well translated the English version is.
I've also started listening to the audiobook of Montmorency: Thief, Liar, Gentleman?. This is a book I probably would have never picked up if it wasn't for this challenge. I had a really hard time finding an author with my initials and luckily my library had a copy of this audiobook. I have only listened to two chapters yet, so I'll see how it goes..
Happy reading everonye!

Currently, I am counting the Newsflesh trilogy as #11 (one word title), #35 (set in the future), and #9 (female author). If I don't love the first book of my chosen trilogy (His Dark Materials), I will move these into that spot.

I hope everyone is well at the end of week 13. I can't believe it's already 13 books into this challenge! I probably say that every week but the time just seems to by flying by.
I don't have too much to report. I'm still slugging through Big Little Lies. I'm finding it more unsettling than anything else right now. Anyone who has read the book most likely understands. I also have made a lot of progress in my book of short stories, That Glimpse of Truth. I really enjoy the variety of stories that is put together there.
So what do you guys have to report? What books have you finished and which have you started? Are you enjoying the one you are reading right now?
In the spirit of the holiday this week's questions is: how are you celebrating Easter (if at all) today? If you're not what are you doing on this Sunday? I hope everyone makes the best of it no matter what you're up to.
Happy reading to all.
