Hi every one,
My novel The Little Sentinel of the Sierra Nevada is available free through Kindle Unlimited, but will also be free for all Amazon downloads for five days, April 9th - 13th.
Check out all the 5 star reviews on Amazon.

They're also available in paperback via Amazon, and would make ideal presents for book-lovers with a sci-fi leaning.

And the, ah, lesser-read ones...

On that note, would it be worth sticking the group anthologies into KU? I can't help noticing that the sales have slowed down somewhat and as I'm not aware of them being sold on other channels, picking up a bit of KU action might give them a new lease of life.

:)

I always allocate 30 minutes before I sleep. Lately I read 20 minutes of study then 10 minutes of reading.
Patti needs more holidays....

What loyalty! Loyalty like that deserves a reward - award yourself a virtual holiday, Patti. Perhaps take Rosemary with you. Where would you go?

Two men are at odds over a litter bin in the manicured elegance of London's Kew Gardens. Which side of the fence should it be on? Yes, quite ridiculous, utterly so.
Throw in one jaded young war photographer - Hi, Emma Saywell - one stately monkey puzzle tree and a squadron of screeching swifts and our scene is set for an escalating little drama and a bloody redemption.
On Walden Pond, The Old Man And The Sea, The Natural History of Selborne and the verses of John Keats are the inspirations behind One Swift Summer, a contemporary novella with Nature at its heart.

By Mark Hayes
November 2015 Book of the Month
By A Publisher's Book Club Official Review on October 22, 2015
Format: Kindle Edition
Hayes captures the essence of trauma to perfection in his book Cider Lane: Of Silences and Stars.
It's a difficult feat to write emotion. First, you must submerge yourself within the walls of the pain that we try so desperately to avoid. Hayes does this without flaw as he describes the car crash as witnessed.
It is a macabre beginning to a story that is beautifully told and easily relatable.
-Publisher's Book Club
Free on kindle unlimited and available to buy on kindle £1.99
in paperback £8.99
A young girl is isolated by a hostile world. She watches a car burning, consuming all she knows. Grief-stricken she wanders, lost, and alone, her mind withdrawn into darkness. Fleeing from a world which has made her an outcast. Seeking only a refuge from other people.
Meanwhile a traveller, homeless, damaged by his past and living on the fringes. Seeks solace in solitude. Carrying the regrets of his yesterdays with him. Walking the roads to the lost places, as abandoned by the world as he.
Fate draws them together in Cider Lane, a place long forgotten by the world. Amid ruins of the past they must learn to trust in each other. If only they can. While the world is ever waiting to crash in on them once more.
Because the world never forgets anyone for long.
A novel of the lost and the broken. Of sharing the silences, talking to the stars, and the importance of tin openers.

The "Displacers" series is about a boy called Sam who suddenly finds out that he is capable of travelling through time. The first time that he does he finds himself in mortal danger aboard a pirate ship in the 18th century.
The series tells of his adventures and the reasons behind why he can do what he does.

"Lifeboat" is about humanity's last ditch effort to escape a collapsing universe and one ship's struggle to survive.
Thank you and happy reading!

Inquisitor; The Book of Jerrick - Part 1 UK link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Inquisitor-Bo...

Michael Ware unknowingly finds himself on the brink of war. Officially the first child born at the turn of the millennium, Michael has inherited a gift that will one day force him to choose between the sorcerers of the Elder Council and the psychics of the Inquisition. When Michael leaves home for the exclusive Braxton Academy, he discovers that the truth depends on your point of view, and that comfort and opulence come at a heavy price.
Inquisitor is a thought provoking mixture of history and legend, in a twist on the modern world. Its gentle humour and dark scenes will appeal to readers of all ages, but especially to those looking for somewhere to escape to.
and Piper; The Book of Jerrick - Part 2 UK link
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Piper-Book-Je...

Things are going from bad to worse for the Elder Council. It has been two years since the trials, and the new Grand Inquisitor is ruthless. And that's not all - in the world between the mirror portals, the Flayers have been growing in strength and number, hunting anyone who crosses their territory. Meanwhile, Jerrick's past has returned to haunt him, putting everyone's lives in danger. They say that making deals with devils is a dangerous game and that someday the time will come to pay the Piper.
Following on from Inquisitor (Indie B.R.A.G honouree - 2015), Piper continues the Book of Jerrick series with an explosive new tale. The humour is less gentle and the scenes are darker, but it still comes packed with action and suspense, appealing to readers with a sense of adventure, or those looking to escape into an alternate world.
For those of you joining us from elsewhere in the world, they are available through your respective Amazon sites.

The Future King: Logres is available on Kindle Unlimited. It's a new release available worldwide, and is a dystopian YA fantasy novel that is the first book in the planned Future King series. Check out the blurb below!
Britain, 2052. In a world of war, disease and hunger the UK stands alone as a beacon of prosperity under an all-powerful ruling party. Life at new school Logres seems promising for fifteen-year-old Gwenhwyfar, and quickly she falls for the school's handsome catch, Arthur. When Arthur’s rival, Lancelot, returns after a suspension, her heart is soon divided. Realising that behind the UK's prosperity lies unspeakable cruelty, Gwenhwyfar sets off on a path to dismantle everything the government stands for. Suspenseful, raw and awash in a dystopian setting, The Future King: Logres is a story of identity and discovery against this backdrop, the second coming of the Arthurian legends.

An engaging study of the absurd where humorous overtones mask a deeply subversive, perverse undercurrent when an 11-year-old village idiot, cursed from birth to remember everything except his own name, creates chaos, outrage and regime change in Eudaemon (Aden) in 534CE when he, Andromeda and Scheherazade, goddesses of the hunt and fables join a mysterious stranger, Hermes, son of Zeus, messenger of the gods, in his epic search for his long lost true love, Lesbia.
My review - “Exhausting and exhilarating. A paradox of a novel.
I read it and then read it again. It's that kind of book. A zany new voice in the world of adventure fiction will surely draw an eclectic mix of fans from across the globe.
So what's it all about? Southern Arabia, 534 AD. Rome might have fallen, but its gods still hold sway - and cause mayhem - right across the Middle East. The main character of this insane novel is the chilled-out, dope-smoking god, Hermes (Mercury) temporarily disguised as a beautiful Greek sandal maker called Demetrius who women can’t take their eyes off. His mission: to find Lesbia, his long-lost, only love. And 'long' is very much the appropriate word: they last met 500 years ago. To help him in his quest, Demetrius is joined by two terrifying women/goddesses and an 11-year-old idiot.
This is a novel of crazy characters, insane plots and sub-plots, great one-liners and zero political correctness. Truly the work of a tormented genius. Who else would come up with a cast of (pearl) diving nuns, priapic eunuchs and Ethiopian hemp farmers? Told in a laconic, ironic style, the author manages to manipulate his readers on almost every page. Expect to laugh, cry and - at times - turn away in disgust. You will feel every emotion - even the odd glow of Mills & Boon 'ahhh' - except boredom.
This is a roller-coaster of a novel, a compulsive page-turner, which keeps you guessing right to the end. Will Demetrius finally be re-united with Lesbia - or her sandals? Will the wicked tyrant of Eudaemon pull off the orgy to end all orgies? Will Andromeda and Scheherazade finally start pulling men rather than women? Will the village idiot ever remember his name? And will the nuns ever go surfing in India - with the help of a flying horse they just might.”

Stalingrad: The Loneliest Death
September 1942. The few men from the Sturmpionierbataillon to have survived the North African campaign have now been sent to the eastern front. Throughout the crucial fight for Stalingrad, a battle which claimed two million victims, human tolerance is tested beyond all limits. There is trench warfare, hand-to-hand combat for every single building, hunger and cold. Madness becomes the last place of refuge before death…
In these conditions, young Leutnant von Wetzland is forced to accept he cannot possibly keep up even the most basic of moral standards. And that applies to himself, as well as his men.
This book is based on extensive research, including numerous interviews with contemporary witnesses. But this is fiction rather than non-fiction. The author chose to keep close to the fiction, even when the two competed for priority, so that he could get inside the main characters’ minds – and look with them into the depths of the abyss. It’s this that gives the book its exceptional quality amongst the many other publications on Stalingrad, and sets it alight as a heartfelt, fiery protest against all war.
