Nice month. I enjoyed City in Ruins. The title Ten-Acre Rock is intriguing. I need to get to The Year of the Locust someday.

What did you think of Year of the Locust. I won't nitpick his knowledge of submarines, but I was not fond of the "twist".

I probably would have liked a more traditional last third of the book, but it was a stunning change of direction. When I first saw this was a CIA book, I commented that it was one of thousands, so I suppose this was his way of making it stand apart from all the others. All that aside, he is a very entertaining writer.

Nice list, Dan. Sherry's bookstore hosted both Don Winslow and Terry Hayes in separate appearances, and their interesting presentations had me buy one and put the other on my TBR.
