Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Hello,

Before I use the Contact Us link, I thought I'd inquire about something I've noticed in the past two weeks. When I searched Goodreads for specific books to read the reviews, I noticed several books had descriptions in foreign languages (meaning, not English).

I checked the editions, and they were always English Hardcover or Paperback. Does Goodreads have some kind of glitch/bug? What is my next step to help make some changes? I can't remember what the first book was, but I have the title of the recent book, Whale Done, by Ken Blanchard.

What GoodReads has is poor programming. We have a button where we can make such-and-such the default description. What happens way too often is that a new edition with a new description is combined and then overwrites the one that was already the default. We were asked for ideas to improve the site. I and many others asked for a button where the default is NEVER used, such as foreign editions. I have been working on Dan Brown since January. The man has books in 56! different languages. I always have to go back and make sure the default description hasn't been changed. I spent hours going through all 364 editions and "Angels and Demons" alone. making sure the languages line up.

You can post requests about descriptions in "Book issues" folder. To help please provide correct descriptions for these books.
