AngryGreyCat (angrygreycatreads) | 665 comments For my theme book for May (fitness/health)Carbs & Cadavers Carbs & Cadavers (A Supper Club Mystery, #1) by J.B. Stanley Supper Club Mysteries Book 1 - available on Kindle for .99 and as a used paperback on Amazon for .01 + 3.99 for shipping and handling. Also available on Barnes Noble as a NookBook for .99 or a paperback for $1.99. Alibris has it used for .99 or new for $3.50

The second book is also health related - but in a different way from Carbs and Cadavers. Death Drops (A Natural Remedies Mystery #1) by Chrystle Fiedler . This is a natural remedies mystery (an herbalist)
Death Drops is more expensive as a Kindle 9.99 but still available used in paperback for .01 from Amazon. Barnes and Nobles has it for 1.99 and up. Alibris has it used for .99 or new for $5.55.

I wanted to post early to give people plenty of time if they need to order them because they are not new books and probably wouldn't be on sale in a local store, although my library has the entire J.b. stanley series.

Marsha (marsha2c) | 41 comments I read the Supper Club mysteries when they originally came out written under the pen name of J.B. Stanley. I loved this series and the last book in the series was BLACK BEANS AND VICE. My cat, Miss Pickles was a new character in the series.

Marsha (marsha2c) | 41 comments Oops, I also read DEATH DROPS when it first came out in 2012. I did not continue with the series, I can't remember now why. I know that there was a lot of information about holistic medicines that I found fascinating.

Anne Louise Bannon | 30 comments I just found Death Drops for the Overdrive app, if that helps.

Sandy Todd So, we can only read one or both of these two books that you've chosen? Can't read one of our own choosing if we stick with the theme of the month? Just wondering as this is different than the April challenge I participated in.

Sandy - You can read whatever you want. Each month one of the members selects two books/series as the featured reads. One book fits a theme, the other is member's choice. There's a discussion thread posted for each where members discuss the featured reads. If you're reading something else, feel free to tell us about it in the "What Cozy Are You Reading?" thread.

Sandy Todd Thank you Nell for the explanation! It seems that I absentmindedly got my discussion groups mixed up. I thought I was in Cozy Mysteries 24/7...duh! Just another senior moment for me (sigh).

Julesy | 410 comments I have read all the books in the Supper Club series. I have to say that this is my favorite series by J.B. Stanley! I know she has now used her other pen name of Ellery Adams for this series but I still fondly think of this series written by J.B. Stanley because I don't particularly care for the newer series written as Ellery Adams.

I love the characters in this series. It is refreshing, and different, to have a male lead character and whom also struggles with weigh issues. Furthermore, how can you not love a MC who is a librarian? ;-)

I used to purchase these books in the large paperback size when they were published by Midnight Ink. I loved that larger paperback size, although the print was not larger, lol.

If anyone has not read this series, I highly recommend it. If you have read other books by J.B. Stanley/Ellery Adams/Lucy Arlington and found you didn't care for those books or series, please do let it deter you from reading this series. As far as I'm concerned, this is the best in the bunch.

I also prefer it to any of her other series.
