Which character should I use in Series name English or original(bangla, hindi etc.). [I think use original character is better.]

Another question. Which format should I follow to use series name in title field, (Series Name #1) or (Series Name, #1) ? I know two format is correct. But I see many places mix this two format.

Both formats for the series indicator in the tite field are valid. It should not be changed for consistancy to avoid edit wars.

That is indeed for the series page. For the series information in the title field of each edition, that should be the series name the edition was published with. Often that is the language of the edition. But also if in one language the series name was changed at some point, each edition should have the name used at the time they were published.

The use of a comma is explained in this manual article https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/... so officially the policy is no using a comma, but the old policy of using a comma is still accepted.

The book in English - The Emperor's Ring (Feluda #2)

Thanks Olga. I am clear now. What I learn:
1. Series name represent in original character as main books character. (So I can change the series name "Feluda" to "ফেলুদা".)
2. But in title field series indicator should be deferent by language like Bangla or English character as book is written.
Is my thought correct?

Lastly a small query about number value. should it be in English character or varies by language in title filed as well as in the book numbering in series. I think it should always be in English character. what is your proposal?

Yes, that's right.

Number value? Do your mean Roman/Arabic numerals (I, II, III, IV, V) or (1,2,3,4,5)? It should be 1,2,3,4,5. It's written somewhere in the manual.

Mean roman like 1, 2, 3 or bangla ১, ২, ৩ etc.
Ex:
Series name: ফেলুদা
The book in Bengali - বাদশাহী আংটি (ফেলুদা #1) or (ফেলুদা #১)?

Another thing I want to add if you don't mind.
What character should I use in name of character and setting. I prefer setting should be always in english/roman(ex: Dhaka) where character name should be in original book language like bengali or other. What's your suggestion or what's the rule?

Only English, of course. (ফেলুদা #1) I didn't know that the numbers in Bengali are different.

Don't know about characters and settings. I never add them. I would say you are right, it seems logically correct. But I've checked War & Peace (Russian book by Leo Tolstoy), there are names in English.

Can anyone answer this?

Yes, bengali numeric character is deferent from roman. Where roman= 1234567890
Bengali= ১২৩৪৫৬৭৮৯০

My opinion about character and setting:
Settings: Should always be in English/Roman. Because most of place name can be globally recognised by everyone. So they can read this easily.
Character: On the other hand character name should be in original book language and maintain the original speling from book. In roman there can be deferent speeling for same name। Ex: bengali= অমিত roman: Amit or Amet or Omit.

If anyone have the idea about this please help.

I found several popular Chinese books translated in English. In some books the characters are in English, in others in Chinese. I guess there is not many such cases. When the book is written in French or Spanish, the characters in English will be the same. I think it also depends on how popular the book is in other languages. In your case I would go with your option, settings in Roman, characters in the original language.
