Hey, team! I'm excited to get started...this sounds like a lot of fun!I'm Michelle from Georgia. My husband and I are empty nesters (hence the name) with three sons ages 30, 31, and 33. No daughters-in-law or grandchildren yet.
We have a Yorkie (Ellie) and two Siamese cats (Stella and Margot). I recently became a crazy chicken lady with seven in my little flock at the moment. And yes, I want to tell you their names too, because I just love them: Juniper, Magnolia, Ruthie, NovaRae, Caroline, Mollie Mae, and Matilda. My favorite, Tallulah Pearl, died a couple of weeks ago very unexpectedly.
I will read just about anything for the sake of a challenge, but my favorite genres are mystery, thriller/suspense, and historical fiction.
I'm a former middle school math and science teacher and I currently work in the public safety/law enforcement training world.
Any ideas for a team name?? {Edited to add that I love all the examples so far! I'll start a tally soon and see if we get a clear winner.}

I am looking for to this Game Challenge, I have never played GISH before so this will be my first time.I am from Frederick, MD living with my husband and my son, a recent college graduate. I am a substitute school teacher and school ends on Friday so plenty of time to read. Funny this challenge starts on my daughters birthday and ends on mine! 😃
I enjoy reading Romance, Suspense, Crime and Psychological Suspense are my favorite. Favorite authors: Frieda McFadden; Susan Mallory; Colleen Hoover; Nora Roberts and Lisa Jewel.

I read mysteries, historical fiction, history, memoirs, biographies, YA, children's, fantasy. About anything really but I don't do horror. I'll probably do some YA and or children's novels for this challenge because they tend to be quick reads. My husband got me the complete Wizard of Oz series for Christmas, which may come into play.

I am mostly all audiobooks as well. It's the only way I can get so many books read for all of these challenges I keep signing up for.
Hey Team! Look forward to reading with you all. My first time with Gish, sounds like a fun challenge. I'm in the UK and a teaching assistant. I enjoy a variety of genres as long as there is some romance, but lean towards LGBTQ+ and fantasy a lot. I'm not a huge fan of mysterys, although have enjoyed some for challenge's in the past so always willing to give most a try.

How does everyone feel about using a SS along with this challenge?I know some love them and some hate them, but I wanted to check.

I was wondering this too, whether all go for different tasks or if it doesn't matter much. As points are randomly assigned per task, no way of knowing. Lol I do enjoy a buddy read on occasion, but I'm so picky 😂

I think we were more just thinking strategy wise. We're allowed to do the same tasks, but is worth spreading out? Points wise could be better off?But yeah im definitely aim two tasks 💛

⭐️ Each team member will need to read one book each week.
⭐️ The book must match a task from that week's list.
⭐️ Books must be at least 140 pages. Audio book page length is determined by the first paper version that shows up.
🔎 How to get points: 🔍
1️⃣ Read a book for a GISH task. There will be 26 tasks each week.
You may not start reading your book before Monday morning (12:01 am, your time)
and
you must finish reading your book and report it by Sunday night (midnight, your time).
Each task gets points. The points may be higher if the task is trickier. The difficulty of the reading prompt does not reflect the points given to the task. (I did not assign the points to the tasks. That was done by GISH people.)
2️⃣ If the book you're reading fits a second GISH task, you can claim those points as well. (The connection must be obvious. If you're unsure if your book fits, check with your teammates. If you're still not confident, ask on the Q&A thread.)
3️⃣ Buddy read a book for a GISH task. This is worth 50 points.
➡️ ➡️ ➡️ You can add 2 and/or 3 to the mandatory 1 for additional points. ⬅️ ⬅️ ⬅️
⭐️ Team members can read the same task. Points for the previous week's tasks will be announced when everyone's Completion Posts are reported. Tasks will be posted each Friday morning.
⭐️ If a team member has scheduled an absence, someone else on the team can match their book up to 4 different tasks so as not to miss points.
⭐️ If someone misses two deadlines, they will be removed from the game.
