Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Hi. Whilst reading a book by Tony Russell on Trees I noticed that there were several authors works under the author 'Tony Russell'. The two main authors were 'TonyRussell (music)' and 'Tony Russell (Trees)' so I thought I'd at least separate the Tree books to Tony^^Russell as outlined in the Librarian Manual. The problem now is that a GoodReads author profile for a 'Tony Russell (Mental Health)' is associated with Tony^^Russell. As far as I can tell 'Tony Russell (Mental Health)' hasn't published any books but has published articles in magazines.

What's the best way to separate the author profile from Tony^^Russell?
Is the only way out to change Tony^^Russell to Tony^^^Russell for 'Tony Russell (Trees)'?

The 2-space Tony Russell profile: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... is a GR author. It looks like he did write at least one book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

So you'll have to move the books about trees to the next available Tony Russell profile, which seems to be the 3-space profile.

And please make sure to edit the author on all editions, when there are multiple editions of the same title.

Ok, thanks Arenda. I'll move to T^^^R. There were a couple I had a problem with but I'll look at ASAP. I guess I should've checked after moving the first book to T^^R.

I'd say it's even better to check beforehand.
The easiest way would be to go to the combine page.

And also, It is preferable to add a bio/description and/or a genre to help identify which author with that name it is.

Ok, thanks for the tips Arenda. I linked most of the editions to correct name y'day but I'll check them later. I just noticed on the phone app that at least one of the editions is still linked to T^^R.
