Lauren | 7 comments What genres do you usually go for?

I typically read missionary books (like YWAM), self-help and biographies. I have been venturing out and reading historical fiction which feels like a nice balance.

What is your favourite book/author/series?

My favorite authors include Corrie Ten Boom, Elisabeth Elliot, and Dale Evans.

Do you have any specific reading goals for this year?
I plan to read 48 books this year; however, I do hope to read more than that- maybe 60?

What is your cat’s name, and personality? Do you have any heartwarming or funny stories about your cat?

I have four cats, Sheba, Marmalade, Sundae and Marlie Jane. Sheba is my quiet girl. Marmalade, my vocal, fluffy orange tabby and the only boy. Sundae is as sweet as her name. Marlie is our newest member and is starting to show her sweet and feisty little self. All of them are rescues. Marm and Sheba were previously feral kittens turned spoiled house cats. Sundae was adopted from a local cat rescue and Marlie was adopted from a local shelter (she was previously feral as well). Needless to say, my family is super blessed with our sweet kitties.

Besides reading, what are some of your other hobbies?
I love to be outdoors and enjoy nature especially if coffee is involved.

How did you hear about the Cats, Coffee, and Books Club?
I did a search on the join groups since I figured it was time to be a part of a group and see what it's all about.

What do you hope to get out of being a member of this book club?
I reckon just to see what being in a book club is like! Hoping to hear some good book recommendations and perhaps pass some on myself.

Artis Tomsons | 10 comments -What genres do you usually go for?-

I have found myself liking sci-fi and historical fantasy books more than the others

-What is your favourite book/author/series?-

My favorite book is a book gifted to me by my grandma before she passed. It's not well known, but it was the first book I have read at least 8 times. It's called "A thousand shall fall"

-Do you have any specific reading goals for this year?-

Not really, my goal is always to just have fun

-What is your cat’s name, and personality?-

I don't have a cat, but I know a cat that sometimes comes to visit me. Don't know much about him except that he loves to sleep.

-Do you have any heartwarming or funny stories about your cat?-

I met him when I was moving in, ever since then, he recognizes me and escorts me to my home. Sometimes he even visits.

-Besides reading, what are some of your other hobbies?-

I love to watch movies and go for walks.

-How did you hear about the Cats, Coffee, and Books Club?-

I got invited and gladly accepted it :)

-What do you hope to get out of being a member of this book club?-

Probably just some awesome recommendations for books and interesting discussions.

Elaine Howlin (elainehowlinbooks) What genres do you usually go for?
I mainly read romance and its many subgenres but I want to read more variety. I used to enjoy horror and literary fiction as well.

What is your favourite book/author/series?
This changes every few years. A book I treasure is Falling for a Dancer by Deirdre Purcell.

Do you have any specific reading goals for this year?
My reading lapsed during the pandemic and I'm only getting back into it now. At the moment, my only goal is to read more than I have been. My target for this year is 25 books.

What is your cat’s name, and personality?
My cats are adopted strays. Most of them are still pretty wild so I recognise they could disappear again any moment. We've named them all after fire-related terms; Ember, Flame, Sparky, Flicker, Soot. Two tom cats occasionally make an appearance as well; Guz and Ghost. Ghost is an all-white cat that recently had kittens with Ember before we got her spayed. Her kittens are all-white as well. We'll get them TNR'd soon as well. I'm afraid of the tom cats attacking them.

Do you have any heartwarming or funny stories about your cat?
Not really lol! Getting Ember to a place where she was comfortable being petted has been amazing. She's a very affectionate cat now but only when there's food around.

Besides reading, what are some of your other hobbies?
I love to play cosy games like Stardew Valley, Coral Island, etc. I also create junk journals and have a blog about books and journaling.

How did you hear about the Cats, Coffee, and Books Club?
Goodreads group search.

What do you hope to get out of being a member of this book club?
People to talk about books and cosy things with.
