Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

I'm trying to update Japanese author names and the system is automatically updatings ナガノ to ナカノ. These are two different names. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I've already answered in the previous question :) This is how Goodreads works. You cannot change similiar names on edit book page. If you want to create a new author profile, you need to add to book something like "ナガノ123", then edit this author to "ナガノ".
