Can you give me some more information? The sentence(s) or a brief description of what that means?

Oh, okay! So if the person actually "runs" or gets out of the situation they are in,....then yes, it would work.

Kat (bookworm2017) | 1460 comments This is a strange one so bear with me as I explain lol.

So for this Book must have a common word in the series (cannot be a, an, the) my series is called Sally Partker as that’s the lead detective name so could Carrie then use sally or parker as a name author? Or would it be in the series name as well? This is for the ones we have to match

She could use Sally or Parker, but the word would need to be in the Series; not an author's name.

Alyana | 1918 comments Angie, can we bank books? If we have a book that we used for the spell out and then it matches with the new set of tasks, can we move the book we read from the spellout to one of the tasks?

Also, I'm listening to an audiobook but it doesn't have a gr page, it has an amazon page though, would you take that?

Yes, you can bank books.

If the book has a page count on Amazon; it can be added to GR. Let me know the book and I'll get it added.

Angie - can give more info on "yes, you can bank books" Does that mean we can use any books we read since the challenge began?

I've working under the assumption that the books for each new group of tasks had to be completed after you gave us the new tasks.

Are you saying we can look back to books we already read to fill new tasks?

I thought that I had included that in the rules/instructions (that books should be finished after the new events/tasks were posted.) But I can't find that anywhere. Since this is a long task that has lots of events/tasks, I've reconsidered that.

Any books started on or after July 25 and completed during the dates of the challenge can be banked and used at any time in this challenge. Provided they have not already been used. Each book read can be used only 1 time in the Olympic Games challenge.

I will post this in all the teams so every one is aware.

Banking books is optional. It is completely up to each player if you want to use this option.

Question received:

For this task - Read a book with a water hazard
What exactly are you thinking of ?

Anything related to water that would cause a dangerous situation or a water situation that intentionally or unintentionally adds difficulty to something.

Like a water obstacle on a golf course, an area that is flooded, polluted water, a puddle of water on a sideway or during a storm. Use your imagination on this one.

Teresa (teresab78) | 500 comments As you specified both first and last name initials in DRESSAGE, I assume we only need one initial for 1. Read a book that has author initials in XENOPHON? Or do we need both initials to be found?

I'm pretty sure it's not the same book, looking at LaurLa's profile, but it is still funny that we both have movie horses - I don't think that's a common occurrence :D

If that is the actual quote from the book and it says "jumped out into the rain", I will accept it. Please reference the quote/page in your justification.

message 140: by Erica (new)

Erica | 568 comments I'm confused. For the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays, the instructions say
Part B – A common task is used by BOTH partners to combine with their Part A task

So I thought that meant we could each do both relays since it says we both have to do the same task for Part B. But the spreadsheet only has room for one partner to do each relay.

?????

Or would you take:
2. Read a book with a forest on the cover (an actual forest, not just trees)?

It needs to be Andrew or Andrews for this one. If it is a character that goes by Drew, and his name is Andrew, I'll take it. But, it has to say that his name is Andrew somewhere in the book.

message 147: by Karen (new)

Karen (karinlib) | 2108 comments Hi Angie for Equestrian/Team Events,/heat 1, where you have Andalusian and Friesian horses, and both partners have to use one word, but use different letters. Do the two titles have use the entire word, or some of the letters, for example Andalusian: I have title 'Inland', would my partner have to use the letters that are left: ausa, or j could they use just a couple of the letters left? I could certainly just use land, if that was the case.

message 148: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 3500 comments Mod
For the Andalusain and Friesian tasks, the letters just have to be within the titles of both books. The letters don't have to be split evenly.

So, If you have Inland (ANDaLusaIN) in your title, your partner would just need to have Ausa (andAlUSAin) in their book title. Extra letters in the title are not an issue and it.

Let me know if that isn't clear.

message 149: by Karen (new)

Karen (karinlib) | 2108 comments That is clear, thank you.
