i’m on page 137 and i’m obsessed. my favorite book before starting The Idiot was Normal People, but I can tell this one is going to take the crown once I’m finished. It’s interesting to read a narrative that takes place 20+ years ago, but relates so heavily to themes of today’s social media age.
Me 🤝selin checking the online status of a man who we became infatuated with based off of minimal interactions and the mystery and confusion of falling for someone
Apart from the “romantic” themes it has, the story (some might argue it has no plot) is relatable in ways I haven’t summarized or come to complete understanding of yet.
Highly recommend for anyone who is past their first year of college, and in their twenties. I wouldn’t have loved this book as much if I read it before/ during my college years. I’m reading it at the exact perfect time, which might contribute to it being my new favorite.
I love the characters. I relate to everyone and everything in some type of way. I’m not usually one to annotate, but I’ve become a bit of a highlight warrior while reading this.
Also, the humor in it is great. I know not everyone will get it, but if you get, you get it and you love it.
(might have to copy this post to insert in my final review of it)
