It Ends with Us discussion

Chapter 1 - Ok. That was a pretty serious first chapter. So many things to unpack. Lily and Ryle have their reasons for going to this specific rooftop. Lily wants peace and to escape from a disastrous eulogy she gave. Ryle is trying to cope with the death of a kid who was shot in the head by his brother. Ryle likes her transparency when she admits she hated her dad and discusses the abuse in her home. They end up spilling their "naked truths".

I grew up in an abusive home. I can relate to loving my abusive father. I can also relate to Ryle's discussion about coping with the loss of a patient to such a senseless tragedy. She copes by trying to run away to the rooftop, he copes by beating up a chair and smoking pot.
