Couldn't we plan to do one of the monthly book reads, based on either one that Kerry started or off her read list that fits the theme of the 'A Good Thriller' group and honor her in away by reading it for her. Since we're all over the World, we would have to find one that would be available to everyone and one that also would be available in hardback or paperback.

Well said, thanks Aymen.

message 568: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Good Idea Mike, we can also make a thread with allthe books in her To Read List, and the members who want to join can pick a book.

That's a good idea. I'll see if I can set something up with some of her books.

Sleep well dear Kerry x

message 570: by Amy (new)

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments I'd love to participate in something like that in honour of her. Such a great idea to keep her alive here. I only wish I knew her better.

message 571: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 2434 comments Thank you, Aymen, for posting to Facebook for us. I'd love to honor Kerry by reading a book. I was checking reviews for a book the other day and one of them was written by Kerry. Just about broke my heart.

I've set up a thread for Kerry in the 'Book' folder. Seemed apt to put it there given her passion for books. Hope you guys find it suitable.

message 574: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments Thanks everyone for thinking of this wonderful tribute to honor Kerry. Brings tears to my eyes but I will gladly read a book for her.

message 575: by Faouzia (new)

Faouzia | 252 comments Two days ago, a student went missing from our University, she was last seen jogging at 8 pm. I did not really know her as she was in a different master program, but we were all worried.
Today her body was found in a bush behind an abandoned building, not far from the city center!
You can imagine the shock and panic of everyone in the campus!
And it is horrible to imagine the last moment of her life, to think of her parents in China, what they are going through!
I read about these things in books, but it is horrible when you witness human cruelty even from a distance, it is hard to imagine how a person can do this to another one!

I really needed to share this story with someone, i am shocked and terribly sad for the girl, and i feel sick just thinking of this!

message 576: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh It s awful Faouzia, I work in city center and I didn't know about it, sometimes reality can be scarier than the story we read about in books. So sorry for the family, so sorry for our country..

message 577: by Faouzia (new)

Faouzia | 252 comments Actually Aymen, it is in Germany, where i am following a master course! a small city with a lot of international student, so this was extremely horrible and shocking!

message 578: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Oh now I understand why I didn t hear about it, crime is striking everywhere.

message 579: by Christine (new)

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments Faouzia, wow, I am shocked to hear this. I hope they can find this person, not only for the woman and her family, but for you and the rest of the students who must be scared to say the least. Don't go anywhere in the dark alone--preferably have a guy with you! And some mace.

message 580: by Faouzia (new)

Faouzia | 252 comments Thanks Christine! We are now moving only in groups, and everybody is really worried and trying to be careful !
I hope they get the criminal very soon!

message 581: by Christine (new)

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments Will keep you in my thoughts, Faouzia! XOXO

Thanks Amy! All day i was thinking the same and it is really terrible!

Crikey! Stay safe, Faouzia. Seriously. That's a shocking crime. I've got daughters and this kind of thing scares me. Only move in groups and try and be vigilant. Try and stay in regular touch here so we know you're ok. Take good care.

message 587: by Melanie (new)

Melanie This is so sad!! Also at the Univ Of MN in Mpls, a student went missing on 5/11/16. Left his phone and wallet in his room and hasn't been seen since. Like everyone has stated, I can't imagine the poor families!! Stay safe!!

message 588: by Christine (last edited May 13, 2016 02:05PM) (new)

message 591: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 2434 comments Faouzia, I'm so sorry for that young woman and her family and friends! We read these happenings in our choice of books, but it is so scary when it happens in real life. I hope the police close the case quickly. Please stay safe!!

Aymen Ben cheikh be safe Faouzia.
Brenda this is great, enjoy the book.

message 600: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Faouzia, nothing shocks me about crime anymore except the fact that other people can STILL be shocked.

If that sounds cynical, I guess it is.
