Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments Thanks Pat and Lee for the kind thoughts. I really appreciate hearing from you guys.

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) Christine-- I'm so sorry for your loss. My dad passed 8 years ago. I could always go to him and talk to him about anything. Thoughts and prayers to your family at this time.

Sue1958--We all have our struggles in life. I hope and pray that you and your family will get to a place where life is more managable. I have a child with special needs and see the way our neighbors treat him because of his differences and it's rude and unfair. Sending positive vibes your way!!!

Thank you so much, Lorrea XO

Jean | 2382 comments Sue and Lorrea, it is just inexcusable for "adults" to treat a special needs child or adult with anything but care and respect. Also, they should be a positive role model for their own children. It's so sad and unfortunate that you have neighbors who are so heartless.

Perri | -43 comments {Christine} I'm so very glad you got to spend that precious time with your dad. Having that closure can mean so much! I'm glad he's at peace now.

{Sue} YOur plate is full and I'm sorry for all the challenges you're facing. You're overdue for some stress-free time!

DianeAlice | 142 comments So sorry about your dad Chris, but so glad you were able to spend those last precious moments with him. That must have been a great comfort to him and also to yourself and Jean. May he be at peace with your mum.

I had an operation on Friday but I'm doing OK. Haven't been on here much of late but I do check in from time to time.

message 822: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale I was offline all day yesterday due to spending all of Monday night and a few early morning hours Tuesday at the hospital ER. To put it mildly, double ended intestinal distress resulting in a mild case of dehydration.

message 823: by Cosmos (new)

Cosmos | 276 comments Sorry you were in such bad shape, Amber. How are you now?

message 824: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Sorry Amber I hope you feel better very soon , take care

message 825: by Amber (last edited Sep 14, 2016 09:28AM) (new)

Amber Martingale Getting better. Was able to eat some instant chicken noodle soup last night and had the refrigerated leftovers for breakfast. Feel like I could eat a bear, but still trying to take it easy.

Kind of ticks me off because I made a package of JELL-O brand sugar free/fat free chocolate fudge pudding on Monday morning and I haven't had a chance to eat any of it yet. Been advised to not consume dairy until at least Saturday by which time my pudding will be drying up and cracking. Yuck.

All the vomiting I did hurt my back...probably from pulled muscles. Hurts most when I cough or laugh. It'll start easing up in a few days, I hope.

message 838: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Although I wasn't very hungry this morning, DianeAlice, I had two pieces of Cheddar cheese, just to see if it'd stay down. It has.

message 839: by DianeAlice (new)

DianeAlice | 142 comments That's good to hear Amber, hope you manage to eat a bit more later.

message 840: by Amber (last edited Sep 15, 2016 10:51AM) (new)

Amber Martingale So do I, especially the sugar/fat free JELL-O brand chocolate fudge pudding I made Monday afternoon before it dries out in the fridge.

The back issues I was having yesterday seem to have resolved themselves since I posted about them yesterday. Thank God.

message 841: by Daisy (last edited Sep 20, 2016 08:56PM) (new)

Daisy | 313 comments Thought I would give an update on my cancer treatment. I was finally able to get my blood sugar low enough to do the petscan. I got the results yesterday and they were not what I was praying/hoping for.

The doctor said there were no significant changes in my spine and hips. There are two lymph nodes in my chest that have doubled in size, indicating the cancer is on the move. There was also a 3cm spot found in the upper lobe of my right lung.

I started chemo again today. I will be in chemo on and off for the rest of my life. At this time I will be doing one treatment a week for two weeks, then take two weeks off. I will do this for two or three months, or until I can't take it. I will then get a couple of months break and start it all over again.

I've been feeling rough lately so I've not been posting much. As I get farther into the treatments I may not post at all. I will be on here to see what everyone is up to and of course get new books for my to read mountain, lol. I will try to keep you all updated as I can.

My youngest daughter is really having a tough time with this since it has been found in my lung. She was only nine when her dad died from lung cancer. It doesn't help that Friday was the 7th anniversary of his death and today the 7th anniversary of his funeral. My older kids are thinking of all this too, but they will not allow themselves to be upset in front of me. Please keep me and my kids in your thoughts and prayers.

message 842: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) All my love and prayers go out to you. Please give a hug to your daughter from me. It is so much harder on the families than the patient.
