A Good Thriller discussion

I haven't been active here in A Good Thriller for a little while because my Dad had been failing. On Tuesday he died, and I'm trying to be strong for my Mom. My brothers and older son are arriving. It's when I'm alone that my heart gives in to the grief. I think it's going to all come pouring out over the next few days.

So sorry to hear of your loss Brenda, losing a parent is such a sad but inevitable life event. My thoughts are with you at this very difficult time. Take your time grieving, there is no set time limit! X

Still thinking of you my friend... Liked G.J. said- words seem so inadequate at times like this..... be strong , but try to remember, you also need to take care of 'you' for if you don't - you won't be able to be strong and take care of others! xx

I am so sorry for your loss, Brenda. I have been through it, and it is a difficult time. I can only send my love and prayers.

Also, Sue...I'm so sorry to hear of (your sister in law?), sickness. It's a hard illness. My best friends mother died of stage 4 lung cancer and I'll never forget how it changed her ...watching someone you love die is one of the worst things you will ever go through. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family going through this tough time. Especially being so far away must be so hard.

Brenda, sending you all the good vibes I can muster. Losing a parent is like losing a part of yourself. The good thing is that he is no longer suffering. And let the grief come--it really helps...

Thank you Amy for your kind words. I just added Whatsup application to my husband's iPhone, so that he can see a picture of his sister. It made him feel a little better yesterday. Now I just have to figure out how this application works fully.

I'm so sorry for your loss Brenda....Daughters share a unique kind of bond and feeling with their fathers....I can understand what you would be going through....Have patience, be strong and support your family....especially your mom. It must be very hard for her...

I've been away for a while reading a ton: ( everything by Brene' Brown, embracing imperfection and shame resilience) I'm reading Lisa Gardner's "Find Her," all this while trying to finish writing my second novel, a story about a young woman returning lost love letters to a widowed senior. Yep, he has and in my opinion the Russian reaction can be summed up in just three words, Kirsten: "Pot. Kettle. Black."

Personally I think his words were horrible. Someone else must've written the speech.... I can't believe Trump would have referenced God that much on his own.

And I just saw where Russia condems Trump for attack,saying it was an act of aggression.

Do you guys think that US strike violated international law?

Probably not. We've done things like that before.

I'm just happy someone talked Trump out of just nuking them...

Not just INTERNATIONAL law, Marian, but our OWN law as well since the Constitution says he MUST consult CONgress...but we've already seen what CONTEMPT he holds the Constitution in during his G*d-dammed campaign. And I'm using that word in the ORIGINAL context: a campaign dammed by God.

No. I don't know if it's a fact. But my INSTINCT says that given what a huge d*****bag he is, something BAD's gonna happen if CONgress doesn't IMPEACH his orange ass.

It is with a heavy heart that I say that Enrique's sister died this morning in Argentina. She had lung cancer diagnosed in December and had been in agony for the last week. I hope she can now rest in peace.

We lost my nephew to lung/brain cancer the week before Easter - the first of his generation to go - and later that week learned his mother has lung/adrenal cancer.

So sorry, Sue. My best to you and Enrique at this sad time. xo

Thank you Quillracer for your kind words. Cancer is a terrible disease. We talked everyday since Jan to her and the family, until she got too bad to talk. She did not know she had cancer.
