Something A Little More Serious

I'm so sorry to hear this Sue. Pets are a big part of a lot of our lives and we can certainly sympathize with you. Sending you a big hug!

Thank you Quillracer for your feeling words.

Thank you Lorrea. I got the hug!

Oh, how heart-breaking, Sue. I feel for you and Enrique. These guys are our children, aren’t they?

How agonizing, Dave. And it never gets easier.

That's right Christine. I can't stop crying today. Hope things get better. Thanks for your kind words. Sue

No, it doesn't, Christine. And that's one reason we don't have any dogs now. We just couldn't face going through that again.

I agree Quillracer. We still will have his brother, but this will be the 2nd dog that we have to put down, and each time it feels like they take a little bit of our soul with them. Sue
I am so sorry, Sue. That is so heartbreaking. I know you will do what is best, filled with love and knowing you will have many happy memories. x

Thanks Sandy for such wise and comforting words. I know you are right...it is just that it is so fresh.

Thanks Janet. We love our babies, and having no children...these are my babies.

Yes I totally understand! It is but it does get better - it doesn't ever go totally away but it does get better.

Thank you Jean. Haven't got any sleep, as I have to keep giving Cocco pain medication, and when I leave the room, he cries. He is 98 pounds so not easy to move around. Thank god we are in a bungalow. Have to put a beach towel around his waist to get him up and take him outside to pee.Been up since 1:00A.M. Enrique started work at 4:30A.M. today, but should be home around 2:00P.M.

Thank you Sandy.

Oh Sue, my heart goes out to you. It's such a hard decision to make. You will miss him, but treasure your memories of him. I am sure he is grateful for the wonderful life he has had with you and for all the love you have shown him. Xo
Sue,
I know how you feel, animal lovers !
We love of animals will all our heart!!
But you must do the right thing for Cocco however hard it is for you. Your love for your beloved pets will make you do the right decision for them and you .
My thoughts are hugs are with you, think of all the good times together, those lovely memories will stay with you forever.
I remember every cat my wife and I have loved and cared for, I would never take away those lovely memories.
Every cat I had I spent their last breathing moments with me and my voice, hardest thing I had to do but I would not have changed a thing!
But the very "hardest" thing to do is to say goodbye.
xx

Thanks Sean for your special thoughts. It rips a part of your soul out.

They do, don't they.
We lost the first two at under 10 years old to kidney failure, and to this day I wonder what we did that we shouldn't have and what we didn't that we should have.
The third one was 17 or 18 years old (not sure because she was a rescue), was failing every which way slowly - teeth, strength, eyesight, etc. - and had no quality of life. So the choice wasn't that hard with her but it wasn't easy by any means either.

Thanks Amber for your kind thoughts and words.

Yes, I have to be at peace that this is not how he would like to live his life. Yes he is eating and drinking, but needs full service to help him outside. For now he is lying on the kitchen floor, closest to the front door and his meds. This isn't living for an animal.

Thank you with much love. Sue

Thank you Pamela. A hard week.

Sue I'm so sorry to hear about your babies illness. It is one of the hardest parts of owning a furbaby. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you Lynn. Cocco had bone cancer, and we had him put down last Monday on July 30th. It was so hard to do, and now his brother Toro is missing him so much.

Thank you Brenda. We found out Cocco had bone cancer after they did an X-ray of the leg.He couldn't walk without assistance. His back legs had gone lame within 2 weeks. We had him put down on Monday July 3oth, so it is still fresh. We loved him very much, but now we much be strong for his brother that misses him and looks so lost and sad.

Also from experience. . .

Thank you.

Very sad news. Thank you for sharing it, Brenda.

I remember, Daisy Brenda. May she RIP. Thank you for letting us know, Brenda. Too young to go.
I remember Daisy well, always so open about her illness and so upbeat. Thank you, Brenda, for telling us. I feel awful for not knowing. Very sad news. May she rip. 😔
