We are a small independent publishing company, and our books, which are printed on demand, are available only on our website or through Lulu, our POD partner.
The issue we're facing is that readers often search for our books in their favorite bookstores, and when they don't find them, they assume the books are unavailable. When we explained this to the Goodreads team, one member added a note to one of our book descriptions stating "Available only at the publisher’s website and Lulu bookstore," which was exactly the solution we needed. Unfortunately, another member later removed this note, deeming it not allowed, leaving us back at square one.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem? What solutions can we explore? How can we help Goodreads users understand the availability of our books?
