► UNSOLVED: One specific book > Kid's Horror book. "Something" traveling through power lines. Maybe trying to get into kid's house? Maybe get to boy via electronics? Read in 1990s/early 2000s.

Beth (ladyworpledinker) | 1 comments Initially, I thought this was a Goosebumps book I read sometime in the 90s, potentially early 2000s. But the more I search, the less sure I am about that. I question whether I read it while in elementary or early high school (no middle school.) I can recall very little. That there was "something" that traveled through the power lines and maybe was trying to get into a kid's house. A boy, I think. Or maybe just trying to get to the boy via electronics. The vaguest memory of the story has stuck with me all these years and I'd love to re-read it, but I've got to find it first!

Beth, do you recall the cover image?

I copied a few details to the topic header. Feel free to edit it.

Mysterosity | 18 comments I don't know about the power lines but the Goosebumps book Don't Scream! is about a kid that is menaced by a mysterious voice through electronics.

Ayesha | 210 comments I do know the Spooks series by Joseph Delaney (The Wardstone Chronicles Series 11 Books Collection Set) has monsters - boggarts- travelling through ley lines and the MC is a boy even though it's an electronics-free world

Nicole | 48 comments This might not be it, but I seem to remember communication through electronics sometimes in Chocky by John Wyndham.
