I was my sire’s greatest warrior. The most powerful vampire Cain had turned in generations. His most beloved daughter.
But I was tricked.
Someone framed me for a betrayal so great that my sire chose to punish me by burying me in a silver coffin. He left me there to rot, until I was driven mad by thirst.
Until I broke.
A hundred feet down they buried me. In a place so deep that most people forgot I existed. Until almost two centuries later, when my sire has need of me once more.
But I’m not who I once was. I’m shattered. Weak.
To keep me in line, Cain forces me to take a pack of warriors as my thralls. They’re my jailers and my carers; responsible for feeding me and teaching me about this new, modern age. Between a vampire, two lycans and a hybrid, there’s little chance of my escaping.
But my thralls have secrets of their own, and I’m about to get caught up in their plans whether I want to or not. The only question is, will I fight with them, or against them?

Finished (view spoiler)[Why are these endings so insane? Gideon better live dammit or I'm revolting. I don’t even know how to feel about Immy’s betrayal let alone her death. Cain has got to be brought down but how the hell they can win against all his power? It is impossible to think of. I really need to go to bed but think I’m going to have to read a chapter or two of the next one to hopefully sort some of this out lol. (hide spoiler)]

You are flying through this series! I am going to start this soon I promise 😂 I am in the middle of three other books right now and I am trying to figure out how I can fit this series into the schedule lol

Yeah I was wondering how you planned to read so many lol. This is really enjoyable so it's a pretty quick read and luckily I spent my weekend pretty much exclusively on this :)

I was going to start it last night but that didn't happen because a novella grabbed my attention instead...oops lol. I am close to finishing all of the books that I am in the middle of right now so I should be able to fit this into the rotation sometime this week. I was in a bad reading slump in July and didn't really read anything last month and that's probably why I am in the middle of so many things now lol

No need to explain, I was in a slump for a couple months and am trying to get back in the swing of things now!! These are the few I was probably going to dive into soon after the Darkmore series, let me know if you'd like me to wait on any and I will....



Also PS I think it's wise to wait on the Darkmore Penitentiary series as the cross over books are really good and will really add to the experience, I have a particular love for the Dark Fae series, I've read it twice already lol The characters are hard not to love.

Book 3

He's far overstayed his welcome and I find it hilarious that his right hand man (Evie) is the one who can and hopefully will take him out. Those practice spells had me dying the way they described it lol (hide spoiler)]

80% (view spoiler)[What in the actual hell? He shot down their plane as if they have time to tend to injuries. Ahhhh the suspense, thank heavens Evie can heal from life threatening wounds but OUCH!! (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[YAHHHH they did it, Cain is no more. So good to see him go down but I'm kinda bummed about Samuel dying. Heck I'm still upset about Belle being killed cause I wanted to know more about her. But I'll take her tracker sister being alive cause she's a badass. Callie however had to go, there's no way she could have lived after what she did to Draven. And lastly awww that epilogue was great. I'm so glad she was able to witchcraft herself into being able to bear children!! (hide spoiler)]

I'm planning on starting this series tomorrow night so stay tuned for my opinions lol I read the premise of Keep Breathing and I think that one is calling to me the most so that could be what we read next. I also have Falling Shadows and Problem Child on my tbr for this month because I love an academy setting but I think Keep Breathing has my vote.

OK I will put them aside until you're ready and dive into the New Gods series or some other ARCs I've been putting off for too long!

The chapters are on the shorter side compared to the demon academy series we read by her and it's making me want to keep reading. My thoughts so far: I can't believe that Cain kept Evelyn inside the coffin for 185 YEARS?! Cain is a piece of work. I'm really invested in the plot so far because of what I have gathered from the guys is that they have some revenge plot that I am assuming has something to do with Cain and they are dragging Evelyn into it because they know that she is his biggest weapon. So far, Draven is my favorite because I always seem to fall for the psychos. I don't even want to know what that says about me 😂 (hide spoiler)]

She hasn't even met Finley and I know it's going to make her go mad when she finds out that she still has a bond with Frost, a guy who she thinks is a traitor and should already be dead. Finished (view spoiler)[ This was a struggle! I couldn't even tell you why this took me so long to read, I just did not care about the story and was bored almost the entire time, which made it harder to continue and keep picking it up. I wanted to try to read until the end though to see if the ending would bring me back into the story and make me interested to pick up book 2 but I don't think I am going to continue this series. I skimmed the last 10% of it because I just couldn't bring myself to care anymore. Usually, a good cliffhanger will make me want to continue on in the series because I just have to find out what happens next but I didn't get that feeling from this book. I think what contributed to me not enjoying this is I never got to know Evelyn as a character besides what happened in her past in the beginning and I did say that I was a fan of Draven in the beginning but it got to a point where I felt like the guys were centering their whole personality around being Evelyn's thralls and I wish I could have seen who they are outside of that. Because of those reasons, it was hard to connect to Evelyn or any of the guys as characters. (hide spoiler)]

Did you have any books in mind? I think we talked about reading next but I'm not really sure where we landed on that because we were also talking about other options lol.

That's the problem lol, too many options. I am down to read Keep Breathing next if you're game? How about for this weekend or mid week next week as I have some to get through and I'm sure you do too :P
