JJ Laurin | 4 comments So, I'm fairly new to romance/romantasy novels, but I seem to have noticed one important rule:
The male hero usually is much, much, much taller, stronger, richer, more self-confident than the female hero, AND he has to be of a higher status than her.
And that's fine!

However: Do you have any recommendations for me for romance/romantasy where his and her power level is balanced? Like, she is rich but he is strong; he is the most capable man ever but she is a queen; he is super clever and so is she - something like that?

Thank you!

JJ Laurin | 4 comments Thank you, I'll have a look at all your recs! Regarding Fourth Wing: that is what I meant in my original post: Violet is short, physically weak, easily flustered

~Mona | 6 comments It’s common for there to be huge power imbalance in the beginning but I’ve noticed that as you keep reading the female characters come into new power and eventually the power evens out.
