If you read the first book in a series or specific author that you don’t particularly end up like, do you ever give them a second chance by reading another one?
I’m currently reading The Fury by Alex Michaelides. My book club read The Silent Patient by the same author a few years ago and we had an interesting discussion about it. Most didn’t like it. Something about an unreliable/deceiving narrator.
I’m actually liking The Fury so far. The narrator of this book is upfront about his unreliability. I’m liking the characters and action. But something is telling me that eventually this author is going to let me down with a red herring or ridiculous plot twist.
So, let me know in the comments below if you ever give an author or series a second chance and try to read another?
