What would I give..
I would give a single petal of a rose.
Undeserving of a love that I, myself, had scortched.
The petal, the shred of hope I falsely pray is left for us.
Is it enough?
No. Nothing in this world is enough to give,
to try and heal what's already deceased.
Why give my all for a second chance I will not receive?
A writer can not write on wet paper.
No matter what was, what matter's now is what wont.
The rose will not regrow.
This petal, like the rest, will dry & shrivel to dust.
All that I would give for a second chance,
is a proper goodbye.
Proper closure to what we had that could not flourish.
& perhaps maybe then
a new seed may grow. (i hope)
