(You can surprise me.)
Shera Bell Legend was new to the place. 'Well, at least, I'll get a new start of my life.' Shera thought to herself and went in.
Shera Bell Legend was new to the place. 'Well, at least, I'll get a new start of my life.' Shera thought to herself and went in.
Cade nearly ran over the girl when she came into the building. He grabbed her to keep from knocking her over and then did a double take. Her black hair was long, her skin pale, and she was wearing... a dress? What kind of person would come here wearing a dress? "Watch it," he growled, letting go over her. "Tucker's office is that way." He pointed.
"Thanks. I'll try to watch to where I'm going." Shera said and walked up to Tucker's office and knocked on the door. Her Purple eyes scanned the office door. 'This is not how I start a first day. Just don't get angry.' Shera thought.
Lark frowned at the knock on the door, but Tucker just leaned back. "Come in," he called.
The girl who came in looked way different from any of the other recruits. She wore her long black hair loose, and it's blackness contrasted with her pale skin. She wore a dress, too. As different as Thor from the rest of the Avengers, Lark thought.
Tucker motioned to an open seat. "Shera. Take a seat."

Shera sat down when she was told. She wasn't sure what Tucker would expect or Lark.
Tucker nodded. "I'm glad you were able to join us. Shera, this is Lark. Lark, Shera. I'll be introducing you to the rest of the team later, Shera, but in the meantime, I thought Lark could show you around a little. I may not have mentioned it, but this office is our temporary place. We'll be heading to my house soon."
Darn. Now she was going to have to play hostess to this weird girl. Why not Cade? He knew the place inside out. And Dustin was much more of a people person.

"Thanks for your hospitallity. I do really appreciate it." Shera said as she looked at them. 'Maybe this won't be so bad after all. I mean I need a new life somehow.' Shera thought deeply.
Tucker nodded. "All right. Go. We can finish our conversation later, Lark."
Lark headed obediently out of the office, Shera with her. "Well... do you know where you want to start?"
Lark headed obediently out of the office, Shera with her. "Well... do you know where you want to start?"
"I have no idea. Perhaps we could get use to the hallways for a starter." Shera replied.
Lark shrugged. "Okay. This is the main hallway, obviously. It run straights to the back of the building. There are two smaller, side hallways part way down." She led Shera to them. She pointed to the left. "That one leads to the restrooms, the other one leads to the cafeteria. All the rooms after here are the places where we sleep. You'll probably be by yourself until we get more people, at least."
Shera looked at the rooms very carefully as Lark pointed them out. "That's ok. I've slept alone before." Shera admitted.
Lark nodded. "I'd rather be by myself." She looked around. "Tucker didn't say what room he's putting you in, so I guess I'll just give you a tour. Where would you like to start? The cafeteria, the lounge, the game room, the meeting room? You've already seen Tucker's office."
"The meeting room first. Then the cafeteria. The lounge. and then the game room." Shera replied.
Lark nodded. "Okay." She headed down the hallway and opened a door. The meeting room was empty, except for a long, businesslike table surrounded by chairs. "When Tucker calls for a group meeting, this is where it happens, since we can't all fit into his office."
"Wow!" Shera awed. She looked the room carefully. "You can't fit everyone in the office." Shera said friendly.
"Yes. I'm ready." Shera replied.
Lark lead her to the cafeteria and pushed in. "We call it the cafeteria, but it's more of a kitchen type thing," she explained. There was a kitchen area, with a huge refrigerator, double oven, six-burner stove top, and a huge sink. "No dishwasher or microwave," Lark said regretfully. "Tucker thought it would be best to make us do stuff the hard way. You have to fix your own food, but there's always plenty of fruit and snacks and stuff, and we eat meals together, taking turns cooking. My turn tonight." She nodded towards another large table in an adjacent room. "That's where we eat."
Shera was shocked. No dishwasher! No microwave! Make meals! What happened to easy world and not a hard world! "It's very nice here." Shera commented. 'At least we don't have to starve.' Shera thought.
Lark grinned wryly. "Don't tell anyone I said this, but Cade's the best cook out of everybody here. And find someplace else to be when Thatcher cooks." She shuddered. "Disaster."
"I keep secrets." Shera admitted.
Lark paused, not sure if that should be considered a good thing or an ominous statement. She shrugged. "We all do. Ready to head to the lounge? That's probably where everyone is."
"Yeah. I would love to see who else is here in this place." Shera replied.
Lark headed through the door and back down the main hallway. She stopped at a door and went in. Several teenagers lounged on couches in the middle of the room, talking and laughing. A huge video screen took up one wall, with some other couches and cushy chairs facing it. There were bookshelves on another wall, filled with various types of books. "Guys," Lark called, interrupting the talking. "This is Shera. She's new. Shera, I'll tell you who everybody is, but feel free to ask again later."
Lark pointed to a girl with short blond hair. "That's Addy. The short kid with the messy hair is Dustin, and that's Conrad." She pointed to the guy in the wheelchair, who offered a grin. "Those two are Jenna and Simon. They're siblings. And Cade's not here," she added, frowning.

"Hi. I'm Shera." Shera said and waved a little before sitting down. Shera had the hallways direction down, the rooms directions down, the cafeteria down, and the lounge down. All that's left to see is the gam room. 'I wonder what schedule we have and what rules to follow.' Shera thought deeply.
"You're lucky Cade's not here, he's a jerk," Addy grumbled.
Lark rolled her eyes. "There always has to be one, of course. Dustin's the guy you go to when you need help. You go to Conrad if you need advice. You go to me or Addy if you want to talk girl stuff. You go to Tucker if you need something. And you go to Cade if you want to be annoyed."
"Now who's the jerk?" Cade taunted, walking in. Lark's face turned pink.

Shera looked Cade. 'That one growled at me and I'm NOT annoying!' Shera thought darkly. And snapped out of her thoughts. "Thanks. I'll remember that." Shera said friendly. She just have to avoid Cade as much as possible.
Cade grabbed a couple books and left the room. Lark groaned. "Now he's gonna torture me during training." She facepalmed. "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the training room. We can go take a peek in there after we go to the game room."
'Oh. ATraining Room means toruture those fake dummies to death with my daggers and throwing knives.' Shera thought to herself.
"Yes. I would love to see that Training Room after the Game room." Shera replied.
"Yes. I would love to see that Training Room after the Game room." Shera replied.
Lark stood up again. "Well, let's go ahead and stop in the game room, then. Unless you want to hang out here for a little while."
"Nah. I Would like to see the game room." Shera replied.
Lark nodded. "Okay, let's go." She led Shera out of the room and into the game room across the hall. It was huge, filled with different tables - ping pong, foosball, pool, several air hockey tables, and a couple of normal tables. Two huge cabinets stood against a wall. "Those are full of board games and stuff," Lark said.
"Wow! This place is amazing! The whole entire place is amazing!" Shera said truthfully and happily.
"Yes. It is. Thanks for the tour, Lark."
Shera was exicted to get used to her new life in THE ALLIANCE. She can hardly wait for the future of the team of teens.
"Yes please." Shera replied wanting to get used to of their type of training in the training room.
Lark led the way down to the training room, at the very end of the hall. She opened the door cautiously and then closed it. "So, um, Tarelle's in there right now, so try not to do anything to disturb her."
"Ok." Shera agreed with a nod. Shera was now feeling nervous inside. It was going to be hard to make new friends. Since everyone is different and she was worried if she did something wrong, she'll feel like a useless person to them.
Lark led the way into the training room. Mats covered the floor. Right in front of them was a section with punching bags and some gymnastics equipment. To their right were two rings for fighting practice, and on their left was another room with targets for weapons training. An older teen with brown hair pulled back into a bun was ferociously attacking one of the punching bags, sweat pouring down her face as she focused. "That's Tarelle," Lark whispered.
Shera stood and used her eyes to scan the room surroundings before nodding.
"You'll be training with either Tarelle or Cade," Lark whispered, moving to the side. The door banged open behind them, and she yelped. Tarelle didn't even break rhythm. Cade came into the room, gave Lark and Shera dismissive glance, and moved over to a bench nearby and began wrapping his hands. Lark's eyes lit up. "Ooh, they're going to spar! We should watch." She puled Shera over to the side of one of the rings, out of the way.
Shera watched them very quietly. She didn't want to bother them. In her mind, she was worried about messing things up and getting yelled at for it.
Cade finished wrapping his hands and stood up. Tarelle stopped hitting the punching bag and slipped into the ring. She and Cade conversed quietly for a minute, then he slipped into the ring with her. "When you start training, you won't be at the level they're at, but you'll be doing some sparring in the ring," Lark whispered to Shera.
The two faced off, testing each other a little, and then went at it.
The two faced off, testing each other a little, and then went at it.
Shera watched them very quietly for the longest time. She wanted to know every single movement for self-defense. It'll be better than her type of self-defense. "Thanks. I'll would love to try it. When it's training time." Shera whispered.
Tarelle pinned Cade with a grunt, and after holding him for several seconds, they both stood up. Cade looked a little frustrated, his shirt soaked with sweat. Tarelle grabbed her water bottle and took a swig, and Lark made an ice cube form in Cade's. He noticed it and glanced over at her, the corner of his mouth tilting up. He chugged down half the bottle and then set it down, wiping the sweat off his forehead. He and Tarelle faced off again.
Shera was shocked on how Lark used ice powers in a good way and not in a bad way. Shera was now thinking on how to use her own powers in a good way and not in a prideful, cowardly, way.
