This is the thread for the August/September Author Group Read with Guest Author, Sophie Toovey. Sophie will be joining us August 15th-September 14th, as we read her Enemies to Lovers, Teacher RomCom, Bell Time.

The book is available in ebook, paperback, and audiobook forms on most platforms, but Sophie is happy to give you a FREE epub during the time of the Author Group Read, if you email her at [email protected] and put "Clean Romance Cafe" in the email subject. So, grab a copy, read it, and join us in discussing the book over the next month.

Welcome to Clean Romance Cafe, Sophie!

Oh! I'm happy you're going to try this one out as an audiobook. For sure let us know how you enjoy it!!!

Danielle | 1 comments I just started reading this one, and I already love the MC! Her inner voice is hilarious. I'm from the US so I don't know what a 'custard cream' is, but dang it, I want to know if it's overrated or not! ^.^

I agree, Danielle. I love her, too. She's very realistically written and likeable. But I'm also curious about what a custard cream is.

Sophie Toovey (sophietoovey) | 8 comments ahh this is so fun! a custard cream is a biscuit where there's two pieces joined together by custard flavoured buttercream. they are very popular with a cup of tea.

I am not a big tea drinker, though I am trying. You should see my tea cupboard right now. It is filled to the brim with more teas than most coffee shops even offer. I might enjoy them more if I drank them while eating a custard cream. I love buttercream!

Also, I have to say that you have written the teenage boys in your book so accurately. I was describing the scene to my sister, who is a teacher, where the boys are dropping things purposefully to try to get her to bend over to pick them up. It is waaaay too accurate with some of those stinkers!

Lynn | 43 comments I agree. The characters are all done really well in the book.

Sophie Toovey (sophietoovey) | 8 comments that's great to hear! there's a lot of real life incidents to inspire those things.
I am a huge tea fan and I drink normal, earl grey and herbal. it's my ultimate comfort in every situation! ☕

Many of the best scenes and characters have real world inspiration.

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed this read! I know I did!!!

Sophie, as we wrap up, can you let us know how readers might stay in touch with you in the future, and if you have any books in the works that we should be on the lookout for? I know there's at least one other book within the Bell Time series that is already out.

Sophie Toovey (sophietoovey) | 8 comments sure! first of all, thank you all for reading. The sequel, Wedding Bell Time, is available if you'd like to read more. I've also got another series where the first book came out in August. it's a post apocalyptic retelling of Pride and Prejudice called The Day of the Dice. You can sign up for my newsletter at sophietoovey.com and then you'll get all the latest updates.

Ooo, that post-apocalyptic series sound different and fun. I will definitely be checking that out.

For any members that come to this thread in the future and want to read Bell Time, don't be afraid to post about it here. It's always fun to revisit a good book. And you never know if the author might see and respond to your comments as well.

Thank you for sharing your book with us, Sophie!
