Arch | 210 comments Are you an author who reads their own story?

I am a writer and I read my own stories.

message 2: by Ronald (new)

Ronald Schulz | 37 comments Yes, of course, I read my own stories, because I write like I want to read.

Simon Jones (gibbonstales) | 7 comments Right now, only when I'm editing or revisiting a story for that purpose (as I did for my first novel). I did get caught up reading for the enjoyment of it, but pulled myself back so I could continue with the task at hand.

Do you Arch?

William Matthies (coyotewm) | 8 comments Prior to publication, I read my drafts countless times, so many, I never wanted to read it again. Now, that cake has been baked, and I'm more interested in what others have to say about it

Yes, I read every story that I write.

R.B. Smith (rosemariebsmith) | 11 comments Most of my novels are lengthy.
Buried Bodies has 95,000 words not something you read over a cup of coffee. Though one reviewer said she read the whole novel in one sitting. Must have been over a weekend?

I am not talking about an author reading their story as they write it. I am talking about after their work gets published. I am talking about if an author is in the mood to read a book, if he or she goes to their bookshelf or e-reader and choose their book as the book they will sit down and read.

When I am in the mood to read, I’ll read my own story, just as I would another story.
