I’m pleased to see you here, Elle! You signed up originally but hadn’t been in contact since, so I wasn’t sure if you would do the challenge. I’m adding you to the spreadsheet now. Enjoy your reading.

Thanks for your update, Ali. You don’t have to wait a week, update as often as you want. I try to update the lists at least once every day as I find it quicker & I’m less likely to make mistakes.

Ali | 161 comments The problem is, the app still won't let me edit my posts, so the two options are: leaving every book in a new post for now, or add everything I've read on the road once I'm back home, and I feel like the latter will be less messy.

So, see you when I'm back :)

Sorry, Ali - I forgot about your problem with the app. Just update whenever it is easiest for you. See you when you return, hope all goes well.

message 140: by Tr1sha (last edited Oct 22, 2024 11:17AM) (new)

Tr1sha | 629 comments 🌹🌹🌹TEAM RUBY - Everyone, please read this!

I know everyone has different commitments with family, work & other activities. But when we signed up for this challenge we made another commitment to each other as a team. It should be a team effort, with each of us trying to read & gain points for the team. We have had 3 weeks so far. Please take a few minutes to look at our individual scores (message #3 above) & compare with any of the other groups. We are very lucky to have Richard in the team - but are we relying on him to win for us? At the moment, if you calculate our team total & average without including his score, we can’t even begin to compare with the scores in any other group. That seems unfair to everyone.

PLEASE make sure you are reporting the books you read - perhaps some people have read books but not posted them yet. Also, can you find some more time to read? Everyone seemed enthusiastic about doing the challenge before it started, but only a few of us have used that enthusiasm to gain many points so far. Come on, team - we can do this!

message 141: by Richard (new)

Richard (richoman25) | 147 comments Another good point is that we each have this to get 10 easy points each, for each month. Don't leave it to the last day... 🙃

Easy point-getters are limited to 10 per month per participant. These will be books with less than 50 pages.

message 142: by Tr1sha (last edited Oct 22, 2024 12:19PM) (new)

Tr1sha | 629 comments A useful reminder, Richard - thanks.

If you read Kindle books, depending on your Amazon account you may be able to read free short stories from their KindleSingles selection.

message 143: by Tr1sha (last edited Oct 22, 2024 12:38PM) (new)

Tr1sha | 629 comments 🌹Games.
Would you like to have extra optional challenges to help choose books & have more fun?

Challenge 1:
🌹Your name - read at least 1 book with a title or author’s name that starts with a letter from your Goodreads name. For example, I could read a book by the author Sarah Maine for the S in my name. If you have time, read books to spell your whole name - Ali, everyone will envy you for choosing a short name!
