i’m thinking about buying the cruel prince to read because i’ve heard so much about it. please no spoilers, but what are your opinions ??

Yes! The first book is mainly world building, but it's still fun. The 2nd book is personally my favorite and it just gets better each book! So please please read the whole series!<3

but don’t go into this book expecting the romance to be like a driving force, it is a subplot
it’s a political fantasy first, but in my opinion that’s why the romance hits so good, i devoured every crumb
but yeah 100% recommend but i think that is a reason why a lot of people are disappointed, especially after reading the first book

It's good but the romance is definitely a side plot and it focuses more on the politics of their world. There's a lot of parts that I thought were really boring but it was a good series.

Yes!! It’s one of the best female main characters we have from YA, and the story is so compelling that you get lost in it. The characters are all interesting and I promise you it’ll be worth the read!!

The trilogy is more about political intrigue than romance. But the romance definitely makes you be on the edge of your seat!

personally, i felt that the series was overhyped. the first book is fine but the romance is pretty non-existent icl and its mainly a political series to me. the second book and third books are pretty good though!

I’ve got two chapters left in the last book and I personally feel that it lacks a bit of excitement that most of these types of books build up towards but I do recommend reading it! I have really enjoyed and do recommend but there’s also a lot of inner monologue if that’s the right word? And the spice level is probably about a tame 1.5-2 🌶️🥰

YES for sure recommend! Just fair warning, I feel like it's usually advertised as a romantasy butttt the romance is very much on the back burner and not the main plot of the series!

my personal opinion is that it was good, but I think people overhype it. Yes, maybe it was intriguing somewhere, but that's all. There are plenty of books that are way better. Although, this is the book that got me into fantasy, so it's great for people that start getting into books, especially those of booktok.
