Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments We’re off!! :)

Remember - books that were started before the official challenge start time need to be removed from the tracking sheet.

Amy | 327 comments happy reading everyone! I'm off to a slow start today after taking care of a sick toddler all day, but I finally get to settle in now and start reading!

message 54: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Hope you and the toddler both get some rest tonight

message 55: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3779 comments I’m going to start with Chasing Fire because I need it for another challenge then the BOM

Happy Reading Team!

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments I'm currently listening to the soundtrack that was published along with
Butcher & Blackbird (The Ruinous Love Trilogy, #1) by Brynne Weaver
- it's actually making me like the book more - lol.

I remember that happening a thousand years ago when I listened to the music Stephenie Meyer wrote Twilight to - was the first time I heard Muse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eB2d...

It’s always interesting to see what inspires writers to write certain characters and scenes the way they do.

Lexi | 4254 comments LaurLa, when you have a moment, can you add Cold Shadows to your Wheel shelf? Thank you

message 61: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 2378 comments Oops! Sorry about that! I'll sticky it on my shelf list so it'll be at the top and I won't forget to that again (hopefully...)

Oh shoot I forgot this rule. I have a few books going that I’ll need to get finished before mine start counting. One of them completed just now, 3 to go…

We have our first completed spelling and on our way with the next one!

Our word is really long so to have one done already is great!

Happy reading everyone and as always let us know if there are any questions. Or more importantly great book recommendations :)

Trinia | 2503 comments I’m slow reading so far but should finish another G book today. Hoping to get more done tomorrow 😁

Amy | 327 comments Way to go team!!

I'm happy to say my toddler's cold didn't last too long, so I've been able to read as much as normal (which still isn't a TON since I have a toddler lol).

Has anyone else read The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi? That's what I'm reading first in this challenge and so far it's SO good!

I own that but haven’t gotten to it yet—glad to hear more good things, may have to move it up the TBR…

That looks like a fun one for this time of year :) Let us know if you'd recommend it and it'll likely end up on my tbr

message 73: by Lexi (new)

That's the worst. Sometimes when I'm in that kind of a slump I go back to a classic favorite - whatever that may be - to get myself out of it.

I've read it and enjoyed it! and that says a lot as there seem to be so many Fantasy/Romance/teen/YA books out there these days!

I'm reading it via text not the audiobook!

message 78: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments I'm a little behind on my reading so far as I have some books I started before the challenge that I'm working on finishing up. I've been trying to alternate them with challenge books and I'm hoping to binge some cozies this weekend for Turf Wars so I should get some finished that will work for this challenge.

message 79: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Happy Saturday everyone,

Michelle, can you add a date read to The Kite Runner on your wheel shelf, please?

Trinia, can you add Golden Girl to you wheel shelf, please?

Thank you both

Michelle's Empty Nest (mlundy5) | 1069 comments Done. 😊

message 81: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Hi all,

I also wanted to remind everyone of a new rule this round, which is personal book caps. These maximum are personal and not for the team. If you forgot what you signed up for, the number and the maximum you can read each round is listed on the member tab here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

If you think you are going to cross your personal maximum, may I suggest that very long books are your friend. Otherwise, if needed, I can add an overflow book tab for extra books. Please feel free to ask any questions.

message 82: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments Added my book ;) looks like I hit my cap as well. So I’m assuming no adding anymore books until next round then?

message 83: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments Trinia wrote: "Added my book ;) looks like I hit my cap as well. So I’m assuming no adding anymore books until next round then?"

Thanks Trinia! I think you are still ok to read a few more: check that E column on the Members tab to see what your actual cap is based on the number of books you said you would read in a round. Ex: You said you would probably read 5 books a round, so your actual cap is 9 per round.

message 84: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments Great, thanks Teddie 😄

Melissa | 3779 comments The BOM threads not up yet for The Spellshop to volunteer for DQs right? I just got it from the library so I’ll be reading too.

No, not yet. Cat tends to set those up closer to the end of the month after the nomination (for the next month's BOM voting) window closes. So around the 27th of the month.

One of the captains will try hard to remember to post when the threads are up for the Nov BOMs

Alright team, we have 3 different mini challenges that start in Round 2. Life throws a lot at us that requires juggling, right?

Good news is though all 3 of these run until the end of the challenge, so plenty of time. And if we complete an entire set of tasks (say the entire set of tasks for the Admin mini challenge) we can do another set.

Feed the family mini: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
