”Not weird at all, honestly, it makes sense. Did you grow up in the country or something?” He asks, fiddling with his hoodies string. “I lived around here and would always wander out at night for peace, too.”
"Puerto Rico, actually. Near the ocean - but there were forests too. So I was outside a lot. Swimming, fishing, hunting, climbing...daily." He nods. "That is so cool, we have something in common."
"Puerto Rico, no kidding! That sounds like Elysium." Sully could think about it, even, how Theo would've grown up. It sounded relaxing. Like a break from demi-god things. "How'd you end up here? I mean, it's so far from home."
"You know what? It was a one-night impulsive decision." Theo was aware that he never was really bothered by demi-god things. Monsters barely bothered him; if they did, they didn't come too close - in fact, Theo was convinced it was because of all the good luck charms his grandma had all around his house, or the braclet he wore. If anything, it was his dad that dragged him here, and that, though only slightly annoyed him. "I guess my 'dad' gave me a message to come here or something. Honestly, I was getting sick of my town - not because ei hated it but because i needed new adventure.I got help along the way. It was like an invisible sting led me here, and I'm so here for it." He laughed.
"Seriously? That's amazing. Did you ever meet your dad, or..?" He asks, hoping over a small rock. "I've never met my dad. Too busy in the underworld sentencing people to the Fields of Punishment, or whatever," Sully said. He didn't envy Theo, nor have resentment for his dad. He knew a long time ago they wouldn't have a buddy-buddy relationship.
"No, just brief visions. Never real like ...long conversations." He admitted, leaning back on his heels. "Yeah - your dad's like a...major god right? Hades sounds like a...well, no offesne, not a very present dad."
"Visions is still something," Sully said with a faint smile. "The Big Three," he displays his hands in front of him as if showing a title. "He's not present much, yeah, but he's still... Well, still my dad. "Cept I've got a stepdad, and he's amazing. Better than my bio dad could be."
"I mean, that's cool. I mean, having a good bio dad. Damn, how's it feel being a child of The Big Three?" He asked playfully.
"Like I have to live up to Percy Jackson's standards," he retorted, grinning. "Haven't gotten a big prophecy yet, but..." he trailed off. Believe it or not, Sully longed for a prophecy-- or even a quest! He had a few friends who went on quests, and truth be told... he was jealous.
"Yeah, this late at night. I know it sounds weird but they're always so peaceful at night, and there are fewer things to scare them off. Like humans." He responded. "When I was younger, I would always find ways out of the house to walk around at night, as dangerous as it was. Night time is such a nice time of day to do things, especially observing. Birds ar like my stars." He laughed.
