He curses under his breath when it fell into the depths quite early. He sighs, picking up another nearby rocking and trying to beat the old skip. A grin breaks out across Maxime's face as the second rock went much further than the first.
"Score!" He says quite loudly, but his joy was meant for himself. Not like there was anybody else around. Well, besides any dryads watching from the trees, that is.

"Beat five skips? I'm sure I could reach ten skips across your forehead." He grumbles under his breath, grabbing another pebble. He loved a challenge, but not when he was guaranteed a loss. He was horrid at skipping rocks.
Maxime flicks his wrist, watching it skip about three times before sinking to the bottom of the lake. He flattens his lips into a line, trying to hide his embarrassment.

Maxime tilts his head in her direction, his voice filled with annoyance. Why hide it? Not like they had gotten off on the right foot to begin with. It doesn't hurt to fuel the fire once in awhile.

He glances up, letting the pebble hang between his pointer and thumb finger. "Maxime. Maxime Delon." Despite moving on from it, the friendship thing was still bugging him.

"Uh.. Max works, I guess." He furrows his brows, the pebble dropping out from between his fingers and rolling. "Are you seriously going to make me some funky bracelet?"
When she tells him her name, he can't help but make a joke about it. "Ariel? Like the mermaid?" His confusion expanded as she told him her favorite colors. Why did that matter?
Why was she one of the only people that managed to bother him? Not even Maxime knows the answer to that.

Maybe he would give Ariel a chance. It sounded like she was actually trying to be nice and all. So just maybe he'll trust her. Even if he didn't like the idea, she was being nice. Maybe this was a chance to make new friends.

"Six skips! I win!" He looks over at Ariel, his eyes bright with joy. He was still caught up on that challenge from earlier, which he had now one by getting six skips.

"That was a good throw," He smiles, pulling his knees to chest. He props his elbows on his knees, staring out at the water. After a moment of silent thought, he picks up another pebble and just chunks it, trying to see how far it would go now.

He looks over as she adds on, raising an eyebrow at the question. "Hit a fish on the head? Never thought of it, but now I'm hoping I do some day."

"Nemo and Dory? C'mon, those types of fish don't even reside in lakes, they're tropical fish!" He motions his hand in the direction of the water, rolling his eyes. Did Ariel seriously think a clown-fish would be in a lake of all places?

He watches her rock fly through the air, his eyes watching the ripples as it hits the water. Maxime picks up his own rock, and hurled it as hard as he could.

He looks up at the clearings in the clouds, before looking back at the clouds themselves. He wonders if there were any shapes in the clouds right now.

"How long have we been talking?" Maxime mutters. It was mainly him talking to himself, but he was just talking to talk at this point.
Cyrus Kerem walked along the border of the lake, taking a break from his usual shenanigans on Valhalla. As much as he loved dying every day, particularly on Thursdays, he enjoyed the peacefulness of the lake; the water rippling, the pebbles and sand underneath his feet, the cool breeze that drifted through camp, often smelling of campfires and wood.

Seraphina walked alongside the bushes while twirling a wavy brown strand of hair. She tucked it behind her ear. She was lost in thought and throwed-catched a purple-ish black ball. Just as she was about to catch it again, it landed near someone's feet.
Cyrus stopped infront of himself, glancing at the ball that rolled towards him. He glanced around, eyes landing on Seraphina. He bent down, scooped the ball up and looked at her. "Drop something?" He asked her.

"Oh, yes, sorry," she answered as she took the ball from his hands, "Haven't seen you around much. What's your name?" She put the ball into her jacket's pocket.
Cyrus put his hands in the pockets of his jeans. "Ah, yeah, I'm not from here," he says, kicking a small rock by his feet. "I'm Cyrus. You?"

"Nice name," she says, "I'm Seraphina. Sera for short."
"Thank you. It means sun," he grins, "And granted that my father is a fire giant, it works." Cyrus looks at her now, "Seraphina..." He repeats quietly. "Yeah, you look like one," Cyrus says with a nod.

"Thanks. My mother named me that. It sounds really alike, doesn't it? Seraphina and Persephone," she touched her silver ring, "Who's your father?"
"Daughter of Persephone, really? I wasn't really expecting that. Not that I was expecting anything else, but uh..." he trails off, clearing his throat. "Surtr. He's a Norse god."

"Mhm yea. Daughter of Persephone. I've kind of made an impression because of that," she tucked a loose strand of hair that keeps falling on her face, "So, are you bored? Or are you just walking for fun?"
He nods, "Yeah, you have. So you need an elastic?" Cyrus offers, "Don't ask why I have one, and um... Yeah. For fun. I'm rarely bored anymore. Why're you here?" He asks in exchange.

"Oh well, now I'm intrigued... why do you have elastic?" Seraphina took it from him, "I'm also bored and just clearing my head of some stuff."
He chuckles, "Don't you see this head of hair?" He gesutres to his black curly locks. "Gotta keep it out of my eyes while training," he said, beginning to walk along the lakeshore. "Understandable."

She picked up a rock and threw it into the lake. It bounced. "Oh yeah," she walked with him, keeping her distance, "So, uh... what else do you want to talk about? It's becoming dark so I'm probably going to have to head back soon."
”Um… I don’t know. Where are from?” He asks, walking backwards to face her now. She was really pretty, someone he hadn’t noticed before at the few times he’d walked around camp.

"Oh, same," she said turning to face him, "I was told by my parents that they didn't know where I was from."
”Really?” Cyrus asks, “Then uh, where did you grow up…?” He cocks his head to the side, “Unless you’ve lived in camp your whole life?”

"My father was a mortal and he met Persephone and they got married and well, had me," she rubbed her pin in her hair, "My father was a scholar and he was obsessed, like really obsessed, ancient myths . . . oh sorry, I think I may have gotten carried away."
Cyrus smiles to himself at her babbling. Compared to the girls he was friends with at Valhalla, she seemed... Well, more interested in talking with him. "Don't be sorry. Sounds like a chill life for a demigod," he chuckles.

"Yea...," she stared at a bird's nest that was nestled perfectly into a branch on a tree above her, "That bird is so cute."
Cyrus glanced up to the bird, "Aw, yeah! My neighbor used to have a bird growing up. That thing squawked all the time!"
Cyrus glanced over. "My hair?" He blinked, "Oh, um- Thank you," he tripped over his words briefly, regaining himself. "Family roots, you know?" He grins. Cyrus glanced at his watch, realizing he had to be back in Valhalla shortly.

She noticed his dark red-brown eyes when he glanced at her which she thought looked so pretty, "You're welcome," she looked down at a piece of paper at the ground and picked it up. She turned the paper on both sides. Ehh, nothing. "Do you have a middle name?"
"Yes, I do. It's Anala, and it means fire. Ironic, huh?" He lets out a huff of laughter. "What about you?"

seraphina santaro

"Oh cool," she blinked, "I have no middle name but if I were to have one, I'd probably choose rosa."
"Rosa? Really? That's pretty," he nods along. "Listen, I've gotta get back to Boston. Um, sorry to cut this short..."

"Thanks," she adjusted her choker, "It's all good and I've got to head to New York soon anyway...!"
