Julius left the Aphrodite cabin, glancing up at the brilliant blue sky. It was his first full day at camp this year, and he was happy to be back. Not that life outside of camp was so awful since he had started college. No more switching schools for him. And as long as his father agreed to continue paying the tuition, everything should be fine.
Maybe he should get a job after Camp.
Unsure where to go, he wandered around the camp for a while. As he approached the climbing wall, he noticed a girl about his own age standing there, staring up at it. She looked nervous. And was that frost on the ground under feet? Maybe a power that got out of control when she was stressed. (view spoiler)
"Good morning," he called.

The girl jumped and sounded a bit surprised as she echoed his greeting. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He smiled.
"I was just wandering around camp. Wasn't sure where to go. Technically, I suppose I came from the Aphrodite cabin." He glanced down at the frost again, then back up at her face. "I assumed the frost was coming from you." He had guessed that she had accidently caused the frost due to nerves, but it was odd that she seemed so confused about it.

She seemed thoroughly surprised to realize that she had been the one creating the frost. "Yeah, I've known other demigods who sort of lose control of their powers slightly when they're nervous. Not that I would really know, considering charm isn't quite the same.
"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Adria. I'm Julius, Aphrodite, but I suppose I already told you that." He tilted his head to the side. "Are you new?"

“Ten years? I’ve only been here for five. Over summers, that is. I didn’t find out I was a half-blood until I was fourteen.” He thought back to the two monster attacks he had faced that year. Memories he’d rather not revisit.
“Really? That sounds awful.” He couldn’t help but wonder how she’d failed to notice she had frost powers when her room was covered with frost, but that didn’t detract from the horribleness of the whole situation. “Well, you should definitely get out more. And as for your power… you just have to learn how to control it.” He walked past her to the climbing wall, and leaned his left shoulder against it, still facing her. “Do none of the other Khione kids have frost powers?” Wait… he remembered what she had said about never leaving her room. Did that mean she didn’t even stay in the Khione cabin?

Adria looked at him, "Well, I usually have gloves that Chiron gave me, and they dampen my power. but I lost them and have no idea where they are I don't know the other cabin members as well." she said as she looks at her hands and back at where she was at.

“It doesn’t seem like Chiron to isolate someone like that. Half-bloods can be dangerous, it’s to be expected. Gods know we’ve all faced plenty of danger in our lives.” Honestly, he couldn’t understand why this girl would have been shut up in her room like that. He knew what it felt like. His stepmother had often punished him by locking him in his room. Hell, that was where he had spent most of summer vacations, up until his first year at Camp Half-Blood.
“Gloves? Like Elsa?” He flashed a smile. “Have you ever wondered if true love might be the answer?” He laughed. “Just kidding. But, honestly, I’m sure you can learn to control your power.” Although if her power was particularly dangerous… “Where was the last place you saw them, anyway?”

"Well, I’m sure they’ll turn up. But either way, there must be some way you can learn to control your powers. Have you ever asked around to see if anyone else has similar powers? Or even a similar issue with not controlling whatever powers they do have?” He would have recommended she talk to Chiron about it, but apparently he’d been the one to give her the gloves.
He noticed the way she was fidgeting with her hands, obviously nervous. He felt a bit nervous himself for a second. After all, he wasn’t sure what all she was capable of. He let his charmspeak rise into his voice. “You need to train. I’m sure you can learn to control it if you don’t just keep shoving it away.”

[sorry it's so small]

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀”Yeah, why not? It seems like the thing to do, doesn’t it?” Living the way Adria had was hardly living. She needed to learn to control her powers so she wouldn’t have to be afraid of leaving her room, for gods’ sakes. “Like I said, you should ask around, see if anyone else has had a similar problem.”
He didn’t know how she had lasted so long. He would have quite likely lost his mind by this point if he had been in her situation. And even though she clearly hadn’t, she couldn’t possibly be happy. Being stuck alone like that - in a single room for the most part - had to be depressing. He’d certainly always found being locked in his room depressing.
“You can’t just live the rest of your life in fear. You need to embrace your powers. Find a way to control them. Live."
