aarushi | 7 comments So I read this book maybe 2017 or 2018 and it was basically like this girl got an invitation to this place and once inside she was stuck in a game (where you could die) and she had to fight/solve stuff to get out ?? I think she paired up with a guy during it but I’m not completely sure.

Sue Elleker | 1052 comments The Forbidden Game trilogy by L. J. Smith? She didn't get an invitation, but bought a board game from a mysterious (!) shop; and played it with her friends.

Kat (tadpoledrain) | 532 comments The Forbidden Game by L.J. Smith was published as a single volume, but if that doesn't look familiar it was originally published as a trilogy in three separate books:
The Hunter
The Chase
The Kill

Ayesha | 209 comments The Karazan Quartet (book one: The Serpents of Arakesh) by VM Jones has a similar plot, although the MC is a boy. (A group of children are invited though and there are girls too)

Michelle Bebbington | 15 comments I read a book like that once and it was called The Marrianne trilogy by Sherri S Tepper. The game was held in a mansion which was a hunting lodge, and they were hunting people.
